We are regular shoppers at Wal-Mart. We usually shop in Oxford, MA. My husband occasionally goes by the Whitinsville, MA store so we decided to try that one. Since it is a Super Center I was interested in him picking up fresh produce for us, for a cookout. The next day I went to wash them and I could not believe my eyes. They were terrible, the strawberries started to have white mold growing and the cantaloupe was in areas to soft and the bananas were already turning black. The Dole Classic Iceberg I could see was starting to turn light brown and the date on the bag was 6/17/09 it was only 6/09/09. I then thought the pineapple was okay till I cut into it and I was shocked of the bad areas inside. My husband always picks up the groceries and checks carefully before purchasing. What is going on with the produce? Is it the store and how they handle it, or is it the companies you buy from?
According to my credit card, I spend a lot of money at Wal-Mart, I'm really disappointed in your produce, and maybe I am best to just stay shopping for food in a grocery store.
Please look into this problem, the economy is bad enough but to either throw away food or have to travel a distance to return it, is very costly.
