I ordered 6 sets of stretcher bars from Wholesale Arts and Frames. I thought something was strange when they sent me a spreadsheet as their order form and I had to call to complete the order. They took 2 weeks to arrive because UPS didn't receive them for shipment until a week later. This tells me that this company outsourses it's products so there's no quality control. When I looked at them I found that the wood was brittle and dry and the interlocking keys on the ends weren't cut uniformly. The workmanship was lousy - splinters and rough edges. I tried to fit a frame together and it wasn't square and when I squared it, there were gaps between at the corners - some keyed corners stuck out beyond the frame's edge. I called and complained, said how bad the product was and that I couldn't use them. "Sylvia" put me on hold for so long I had to hang up. Called back for an hour - got her again - she said other people haven't complained so there was nothing wrong with the product. When I insisted on a refund, she hung up on me. This company must be run from an apartment or something like it. You keep getting "Sylvia" and one other guy on the answering machine. They sent me a link to their T&C which says - no refunds and I made the mistake of not reading them before ordering. No serious consumer products company in 2009 has a no refund T&C. They offered to replace them - like I want more of the same junk they sent me the first time. Lesson learned - just because it's a good looking web site doesn't mean it's a good business.
