I bought a Nokia E61i from Subhiksha (Indiranagar, Bangalore) on Dec 22, 2007, and here are the problems I faced.
The mobile rates are not very cheap, only Rs.50-100 lesser than other shops. Prospective buyers are advised to do some surveying and you'll see that Subhiksha rates are barely lesser.
I was offered the E61i at Rs.16650 at one shop and Rs.16700 at Subhiksha. I chose Subhiksha because the shop fellows told me that I will be getting a free screen guard and mobile pouch. Just as I collected the mobile and paid them the cash, I asked them for the pouch and screen guard. They told me that they don't have stock and I should come the next day. They took my number and said that they would call me.
I went the next day, they took my number again, and asked me to come three days later. It has now been three weeks since I bought the mobile, and I have visited their shop six times already. Each time they tell me with the same confidence that they will get the pouch in 2-3 days and they will call me.
If they had told me that they don't have the pouch stock or that they would take long, I would not have purchased the mobile (although I was getting at Rs.50 less at another shop). I don't know what is stopping them from doing their part and completing the sale that they already started. It is really irritating when I have to spend time, energy and petrol to run after them. I heard from another friend that the Subhiksha folks are really lousy when it comes to treating customers.
I am still waiting for the mobile pouch (which would cost some Rs.200 I believe). And if I don't get it soon, I want to escalate the issue to someone senior in the Subhiksha organization.
With all they hype that Subhiksha creates, I see that not only are their services very ordinary, but they are very bad in fact. I would suggest all new mobile buyers to look at better stores before you buy a mobile.
