Unsanitary plus Poor Service
I will never go to this place again. I stopped by after work and within 3 minutes, I knew I would be placing a complaint.
An employee dropped the knife she was using to slice sandwiches. The manager took it from her and RINSED it at the sink-- then GAVE IT BACK to her. The water did not steam, so it clearly was not even hot, nor was there any soap visible. It was then used for another customer's food.
When my sub was done (not using that knife-- I was watching) I told the clerk I wanted apple slices and she directed me to the case. I found that every bag of them was 2 days PAST the date and looking pretty bad, so I grabbed yogurt instead.
When I was ready to pay, the manager was clearly trying to train a new employee. He could not find something on the register and she proceeded to BERATE and fuss at him for a good 5 minutes, saying things like "if you can't find it, how do you expect to do this?" So the manager tried to do it herself-- but SHE could not find the key! Another employee had to show it to her.
I was forced to wait for them to play with the cash register for more than 10 MINUTES after being on my feet all day, and they never bothered to apologize, thank me for my business, or show any form of good customer service.
In the end there was a change in my order, and the manager could not figure out how to fix it. She wound up adding it on the receipt and using a calculator to figure out my change. In the end, she did not even GIVE me the receipt and I was too angry to do more than tell her about the apples. I honestly have no clue if she understood me because she kept repeating what I said as if I was speaking a foreign language.
To cap it off, while I was around the corner getting my drink, I could hear the manager TALKING about me and how I changed the order. Being in customer service myself, I am fully aware of how frustrating it can be when a change is needed, but there was NO call for their lack of professionalism.

Bad service
So I work down the street from the Apple, Boise Subway location. We used to go there often on our busy days and order lunch. There are two groups of people that work there, The Dream team (the group of African American Men), whom we love, and they know us by name, and the other people who were very rude. This is about the other people.
First off, a worker went to the restroom, came out, and didn't even wash there hands, Second, the older guy, must have been the manager was very rude, and unpleasant. We had ordered 3 foot long sandwiches, 1 for each co-worker. First off, he acted annoyed that I was ordering food, it’s like... COME ON That’s your job, second, on one of the sandwiches, we requested all the veggies, that include ALL the VEGGIES! He missed the lettuce, and onions, so when I said she wanted ALL the veggies, he looked at me, sighed, rolled his eyes, slammed a little lettuce, and tons and tons of onions.
Well it didn't end there, so as I was paying, there were another set of customers ordering there sandwich. The customer was handicap with a basic speech problem, I could understand the entire order, but the rude worker said, can you have someone else order this, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU! The lady that was with the handicap girl said, no she needs to order it's part of her assignment for the day!
I was appalled by the whole thing. It makes me think twice about subway, and why they would hire people like this.
We haven't gone since, and I will tell everyone how horrible that day way for me.

would not give me a sub for 5.00
I was at subway on 04/11/08 . I wanted to order the chicken bacon ranch footlong sub which on the sign said any footlong sub for $5.00. I was told it could not get it for $5.00 because it was one of the subs not included in the $5.00 range. the chicken bacon ranch sub is not a special sub. It was in the list with all the other subs for $5.00. I had to order another sub wich i didn't really want. I would like to know why i couldn't get it for $5.00 ? This may be my last visit to subway. And the thing is it is advertised all over for any footlong sub for $5.00 . I call that false advertisement.

Unsealed yogurt!
The seal from the yogurt I got with my sandwich wasn't sealed and only half filled. The salesperson refused to give a new one. He finally gave cheetos, but wouldn't give another yogurt. He had a real attitude. I also had a question about the pastrami sandwich price and the answer he gave wasn't logical. The sign said ANY footlong sandwich all day for $5.00. That wasn't what I paid for it.

coupons
went to this subway to buy dinner for my wife and presented
2 coupons; one for 3 cookies for $1.00 and one for 50 cents
off a 6 inch sub. When getting to the cashier, which did not
know her head from her foot, she asked mgr or owner how to
ring it up. |The mgr or owner, whichever he was decided to
tell me he could not take but one coupon at a time. We are
talking 50 cents for one coupon and 39 cents for another. No
only was he a inconsiderate person, he was rude. There was
no sign saying one coupon at a time, so I left the sandwich and
he even kept the coupons. you do not have to worry about me
or the people with me about going back to any subway EVER.

Manager that dont care
They need a new anager at the Clarion Subway. They are so disorganized its rediculous. They have employees there that are good and should be in charge. The manager that is in charge now is worthless. She never scheduals enough ppl on their busy days and too many ppl on their slow days. Does this make sense. Their cookies are always too hard or too gooey. They have some employees that dont wash their hands. They accual have an employee that just started and she coughed on her hands and then gloved. Discusting. There are two workers there who try and make my visit pleasant when I come in. One is always courteous, makes my food great, has a good attitude no matter how busy, always smiling, always about what i want, very patient, and controls the night kids really well when shes there. Im not sure what her name is. She has long blonde hair. Then there is a high school boy that is very courteous and has a pretty good attitude. Not sure his name either but overall a well mannered kid. He gets a little frustrated but I prolly would too if I was stuck working by myself from 7 to 1030 without help and when i called for help the manager wouldnt come in. the manager doesnt care. I have heard her on a number of occasions say i dont care. Im looking for a new job any way. they dont pay me enough. She leaves when they are busy at 12. She never smiles. We quit eating there for a while during the day bc she is kind of rude to customers and employees. If i was doing a review for this store I would definetly say that the manager should not have a job. I as an owner would not want a manager that acted this way. I would not want a boss that did not care. I thought the two ppl that were good should be recognized and if I knew their names they would be in this paragraph. Thank you to the two employees at Clarion Subway for your courteousness to me and my husband. The manager needs to shape up or ship out.

Terrible service!
This is nasty I have been to subway several times at this location. While some service is great friendly clean some are not. There is only 2 reasons i will go into this subway location now and one is if A blond who just had a lil girl, very courteous friendly fast and very helpful and clean is working and another older blondish brown haired lady at night who is also friendly courteous clean fast are working other wise the other ppl are bitching or not washing there hands and if weren't for these two ladies i would not go into the subway in clarion. The number 1 reason is They don't wash there hands and one time a girl with red hair blew her nose and then gloved and made food. Thats nasty.

Bad service!
Ok you know what is sad? When you go into a subway and two high school kids are arguing who should wait on the customer because neither one wants to. Isn't that the workers job? I believe one kids name was tommy and the other was shelly or shell or something like that. These two were literally pushing and shoving each other friday night about 830 pm to wait on the customers. One was saying i am off the clock u have to get them. while i was there eating they were like wrestling in the back and using vulgarities. Not impressed.

Bad manager!
I went to subway today with my friends. The manager and a red head were working. We ordered our food and were eating. there were a few other customers in there. All we could hear was the manager complaining about her life and how she hated this dead end job. how her husband and her were getting a divorce. she was going to leave and move to minnesota and live with her sister and leave her girls there with there father. She continued complaining about employees and how they all suck. she had to drop out of school because of her job, kids, and husband. She then said Lisa and bobbi jo?? dont pay her enough to be a manager and that they just dick around and now they are bringing in someone to help her but this person is the same age and will probably be someone that will just be as lazy as all the employees and she does all the work now. Well after listening to this go on and on we really were not impressed.
This is not how i wanted to spend my lunch hr and the service was slow and not very friendly.

Terrible experience!
Service was slow because it looks like the owner and his son our the only ones always working , waited about 15 min before being asked what you want then we ordered two subs oven roasted chicken with bacon and another Chicken he put 1 pc of bacon on sub and then it goes to his helper/ son he puts vegetables on a ton of lettuce and very little veggies and rings us up as 2 subs almost $9.00 instead of a 1ft long like the other Subways because it was same bread and both chicken, sat down to eat it tasted like dish soap and we could not eat them poor service bad taste on top of it, we eat at Subway all the time and this was a poor excuse for a business yes we are all out to make money and make cuts to do so but this place has went beyond we will not eat there again. We told some people they said pretty much the same thing!
