Beware
Beware I have been to three Subways and they have all reduced the quantity of meat and cheese by 50%. I can only guess this is there way of increasing the price of the sandwich, hoping you will not notice. They are trying to do exactly what is happening at all the grocery stores, which reducing the quantity while leaving the price the same. I guess I will go elsewhere and see if that is happening there as well. Its just like the government which is saying there is no inflation, therefore there is no increase in social security. The real reason is they changed the CPI to not include food, energy and fuel costs. Sorry to go on like this but I could not post without having 100 words or more. Its your choice.

Overall Cleanliness
I used to work for this Subway. They do not clean the tea nozzles, in fact most of their dishes are not cleaned properly. They dunk and rinse their dishes. The tea nozzles are supposed to be taken apart, scrubbed. Rinsed and sanitized. This is not done. They just dunk into the water and let it sit on the rack to dry. The tomato slicer has a disgusting discoloration from the fact that the Management refuses to get anything to properly clean it. The veggie slicer is supposed to come apart to be cleaned. I doubt that any of the crew that works at that store even knows this, as long as I worked there it was never taken apart to be cleaned. The employees will forget to wash their hands, thinking the gloves protect the customer. People the gloves are a show. They breathe and do nothing to protect you. If you see someone walk up and skip that sink demand they wash their hands! The tea machine itself which is also used to make coffee is not cleaned properly. The water dispersion adapter gets so much lime buildup on it that the water refuses to flow properly. The plastic tea and coffee parts for the machine are never cleaned properly. There is always a disgusting residue in the bottom as no one seems willing to scrub. DO NOT DRINK THEIR COFFEE OR TEA! There is a good chance you will get sick. They do not actually wash out the coffee holders. They rinse them, sanitize them then let them dry and reuse them. Meanwhile a crusty residue builds up in the bottom. The tea holder is the same. The employees are not made to adhere to a professional look, I.E. wearing your pants where they belong. A few of the employees will wear their pants down low, then grab them while on the line and pull them back up before resuming making the sandwich. Ew! I'm sorry but there's something about watching someone grab their ass then touch my food that makes me sick. I would recommend avoiding this Subway like the plauge.

Very rude employees
It's unbelievable that management would hire employees who can barely speak English. The difference between chicken and tuna is difficult to explain to them. And apparently, the rudeness continues with attitude when correcting them for making the wrong sandwich. Cold items are Luke warm; hot items are cold. Some of the veges are wilted. When they drop the food on the floor, they just put it back in the container for the next customer. Gross! Beware of this Subway.

Poor quality and poor customer interaction
I have been to subway 3 times, a different store each time, and all three times I have cried. The first time I went I was very little and being a child and my first visit I don't know all the details of sandwich making. I also am allergic to uncooked fruits and vegetables thus greatly limiting my sandwich fillings. I ask for a ham sandwich with mustard and get a kaiser roll with 1 extra thin slice of ham and about 1 oz of mustard. It tasted like bread with a hint of mustard. The second time was not long after that and I asked for a chicken sub and again got barely any chicken and barely any condiments. Now, about 12 years later I give Subway another shot. Maybe they learned from customer feedback that they need to add more to their sandwiches, even if it costs more. I'm practically a first time customer because I don't know anything on their menu and I say so to the person working there. They tell me to hurry up and decide and then proceed to mutter under their breath about how slow I'm being. I order extra meat because I know it's not going to be enough anyway. I finally get my sandwich to the table and begin to eat what I didn't really want because the worker rushed me and there is still only 2 slices of meat on the sandwich. Every time I've gone to Subway I left crying and hungry after paying $3-$5 for bread with a hint of flavor. When I tried to ask for assurance that not all the Subway stores are like this on their Facebook fan page my post was deleted because it was considered a complaint. Not only did they upset me in the store but online they ignore and censor anyone trying to contact them about poor service and food quality.

Employee Conduct
A Co-worker if mine named Paul came and said to me that he would cut my throat. I am just asking that the Complaint Board make a note of this for future reference.

Thank You.

Horrible Food, other
Store # 39195

This is the 4th time I have been in the store (Located inside of the Indian Store) and found the same one or two guys working at the Subway part of the store. Its the 4th time that they have said 'were sorry the bread is old, we would have made some new bread if we new it was old' YET they say this EVERYDAY, today the sandwiches tasted particularly shitty (me and my husband is on a diet & wanting to eat subway but am now going to another Subway or changing our diet because of the people that work at the store). Second of all, everything was frozen (eg every topping you can choose to put on your subway sandwich had frost on it, so although I had the sandwich toasted, they put frozen & icy spianch, hard/ice olives, ect...EVERYTHING was frosted) made the sandwiches really nasty tasting, besides the shitty bread, I wanted to choose a another type of bread but the blonde headed guy that works there said there were only two types to choose from & he said they were old and close to moldy (his words not mine). I stood in line, 2 other people were in front of me, in that time he NEVER changed his plastic gloves but saw him pick up two different dirty ass cleaning rags and wipe the counters off. Im writing to just let you know I will not be back during evening hours (we eat breakfast there & the women that work there are fine/clean/friendly), however people may get sick from your unclean employees. Plus you'll lose me and my husbands business from now on. OH by the way they didnt follow their $5.00 special for his month, they charged us $7.00.

Ask Subway corporate customer care is unresponsive
I have requested information from the customer care department of Subway, but they never respond. Must be the same HQs staff as Ben and Jerry's and Carfax who are also non responsive.

Discrimination
I was discriminated against at the Subway located at 2017 N. Hollywood Way, Burbank, CA 91505, (818) 843-5900. I went to this Subway on Sat., 4/2/11 at approx. 8:51 pm. There was only one person that I saw in the restaurant when I walked in, a girl behind the counter and no other customers. I learned that her name was Imelda. They have on the menu that they make a salad from any of the subs on the menu. I repeated this order to Imelda about six times and she kept pretending that she didn’t know what I was ordering or talking about. She was antagonistic. She acted like I was ordering something that wasn’t on the menu. I guess she just doesn’t have a clue as to what is on the menu. I started getting irritated after the third time of repeating myself to her, then after the sixth time I realized just how incompetent she was and that she just didn’t want to wait on me. So I asked her if there was someone else that could take my order. She stormed off and went behind the counter area and I could hear her whispering to someone there. Then some other idiot, this guy whose name I was never told, follows her to the counter and I told him that Imelda was acting like she didn’t know what I was ordering and wouldn’t take my order. He just ignored everything I said to him and said that she could help me as he pointed to her. Then he started arguing and mouthing off to me and also pretended like he didn’t know what I was ordering. I pointed out the item on the menu to them because they obviously don’t know what’s on it even though they work there. Then he started laughing at everything I said to him. And he was actually cracking up, not chuckling. I was getting really aggravated at him laughing at me. The first idiot was bad enough, but then there was another much worse and there was no one else besides them working in the restaurant that night. I asked him what was so funny to him and told him to knock it off. Imelda defended him as she witnessed him laughing at me with a smile on her face by saying that he wasn’t laughing at me and that no one was. I then reminded the guy about how inappropriate his behavior was, especially to a customer. I asked him who the manager was. First he refused to tell me the manager’s name, then lied and said that “she” left the store and would be back in a few minutes, then lied again and told me the manager’s name was Brook and she wasn’t there and that there was no manager at the restaurant that night at all. Then I told Imelda to give me the name and phone number of the manager of the restaurant, to which she tore off another customer’s receipt from the cash register. I then left that Subway and went to another one close by where I learned is owned by the same owner as the other one. I explained to the girl at the counter what happened at the other restaurant and asked her for the name of the manager and when they would be there. She told me her name was Myra and she wasn’t there on the weekends and that there usually aren’t any managers at that restaurant on the weekends. She then took my order. On Monday, 4/4, I called the Subway where I was discriminated against and spoke to someone named Rosa. I asked to speak to Myra. She told me Myra wasn’t in and acted like me she didn’t know when she would be. I then called the other restaurant and spoke to someone named Kim. She claimed to be a manager. I asked her who the district manager was for the other restaurant because I couldn’t get a hold of the manager because of the staff there. She told me that her restaurant and the other are affiliated. I was under the impression by her attitude that she was really anxious to know every little detail so she could spread it to the rest of the staff at her restaurant as soon as I hung up the phone. I explained to her what had happened. She told me that there was no district manager then suggested that I talk to the owner, whose name is Andrew, but wouldn’t give me his phone number. She asked me for my phone number and told me that she was going to call him immediately after we hung up and ask him to call me. I called Kim back after approximately two hours because I didn’t hear from Andrew. Someone named David answered the phone. When I asked to speak to Kim, he held the phone against himself to cover it for what seemed like two minutes as he was talking most likely to her. Then Kim answered the phone. She claimed that she called Andrew immediately after we talked and asked him to call me, than asked me to speak to David because she claimed he was the district manager. What a surprise, she’s now telling me there’s all of sudden a district manager in the restaurant when I called. He just answered the phone as if he was just one of the staff making sandwiches without telling me he was the district manager. Before I had a chance to say anything to him, he told me that they are not going to get involved because they have nothing to do with the other restaurant because it is not affiliated with theirs. Apparently Kim must have filled him in on the whole story just like I knew she would. It appears that almost everyone I’ve spoken to at those restaurants were liars. I got really angry at this point and told him that Kim told me the two restaurants are definitely affiliated, that this was a serious situation and I wanted to talk to Andrew, the owner, about it not him. Then he hung up on me. I called him back and told him that I have grounds to file a complaint for discrimination with a state agency and that he needed make Kim aware of this also. He, of course, laughed when I said this. I then hung up on him because Andrew called me as I was talking to him. I explained to Andrew everything that happened; that his staff wouldn’t wait on me and discriminated against me at one of his restaurants. He appeared to be unconcerned about the whole thing as if he was annoyed with me or I was interrupting his busy schedule. He told me that he would have to view the video tape at the restaurant for that night because apparently he didn’t believe me. I asked him if he really thought that I would go through all the trouble of trying to get a hold of him and dealing with his horrible staff in the process if I was just making all this up. He repeated to me again that he would have to view the tape. He asked me what I wanted him to do about the whole matter as if he needed me to tell him what to do instead of telling me what he was going to do about it. He never once apologized to me. I told him that if I were him I would fire the ones that discriminated against me. I also mentioned to him that almost everyone I’ve spoken to at his restaurants were liars, that his staff are liars. He said nothing to me when I told him that I would never go back to any of his restaurants again. Before we hung up, he told me to call his 800 number and leave him a message if I needed to contact him again, but he didn’t give me a direct phone number to contact him. I called him the next day and left him a message asking him to call me back because I had a question to ask him, but he never called me back. What a surprise, no wonder why his staff are liars. I then decided to call the headquarter office for Subway after I found out the phone number to report the whole situation because I realized that Andrew was not taking me seriously and most likely wasn’t going to do anything about it. I spoke to someone named Sue. She was typing as I told her about the whole situation, especially being discriminated against, and then she gave me a number for the complaint. She told me Andrew’s last name was Batzkin. She explained to me that someone from her office will be contacting him and he will have five days to resolve this matter with her office. Before we hung up, she gave me Andrew’s direct phone number, (213) 675-1563, because I explained to her that he never called me back when I left him a message on his 800 number after we spoke and he told me to contact him on that number if I had to contact him again. On Friday, 4/8, I called the headquarter office again for the status of my complaint. I spoke to someone named Peggy. I could hear her typing everything I was saying to her even though she did not inform me that she would be doing this beforehand, at the beginning of our conversation. She told me that Andrew was contacted by her office, the matter was resolved and is now closed and they cannot overwrite the owner’s decision. When I inquired as to how the matter could possibly be resolved and closed in just two days, she refused to explain anything further to me. Then she repeated to me several times as if she needed to make this very clear to me that he stated to them that he didn’t want me coming back to any of his stores again. I kept reminding her when she did this that I was the one who told him that I would never go back to any of his restaurants again when I spoke to him. What makes him think that I would ever want to go back to any of his restaurants from hell anyway? She was clearly bias and I was really getting aggravated with it. I find it to be low to the ground that the owner of company and his staff would treat a customer like a criminal when they themselves are the criminals. I asked her if she ever realized that word gets around and then told her that there are several websites with pages of complaints about many of the Subway restaurants in different states, ironically one in Burbank that I read about. I guess they don’t think about this when they’re treating their customers like crap. When I asked her why her office takes complaints from customers and then leads them to believe that they are actually going to do something about them in the first place when it’s obvious that they don’t do anything, she had nothing to say in response to this. I then hung up on her shortly after because she kept arguing with me.

Listed Price was not honored
Ok we went in last night to grab something quick as well as healthy. They have a sign which displays $5 "6-inch meal deal which includes drink and chips for $5 not $5 plus the price of chips and drink but only $5 so this is what my daughters order but when their orders were rung up at the register one was for ham and cheese which was $3.50 and the price of the chips and drink were seperate for $2.25 so her total was $6.33. When I asked how could this be the sign says $5 6'inch meal deal. The cashier said they has to ring it up seperate whci made no since but if you do ring it up then the total should not execeed $5 before tax if that is the case then your sign is misleading and you do not offer a $5 meal deal. Now my other daughter order the same thing except she has turkey and her total was $6.88. I know some of you may say this is such a small amount but if you are going to advertise then you should honor you advertisments otherwise don't advertise and there would not be a problem.
