My car had what appeared to be a minor collision. Was told by Sudden Impact that there was major damage, but I would have the car back in 8 days. 2 weeks later, I had to call to find that the parts were not in, but would be done the following week. 7 weeks later, and a lot of calls to their office(never contacted by them) I got my car back. 2 weeks later, my car starting breaking down and was leaking fluid.
I called Sudden Impact and was connected with the owner. He stated that it been 3 weeks(but only had been 2) and there were no problems until now. I urged him to get it fixed correctly and expedite it quickly because I have 4 children and this is my only car. He told me to bring it in and he would take care of it. When I showed up, he gave me the same '3 weeks' line.
When I lifted the hood of my 2005 Magnum, there was a dirty, oily, junk yard engine where my factory, clean and pretty engine once sat. I expressed my concerns about the leaks, engine lights and cosmetic issues with the engine. I was told that 2 days, I would have it back and the engine would be 'same as' cosmetically prior to the accident. Missed the deadline AGAIN!!
So I called the place that my car was sent to (I was told they installed the engine) to find that my car had just arrived 1 day after the deadline was set. 9 days later, the car was ready but it was closing time and I had NO time to check the work and the cosmetic issue with the engine was not fixed, and the owner was not in. 2 weeks later (currently) my car is back in the shop, but this time I escorted the car directly to the repair shop and waited for the outcome.
The company that I was told installed the motor told me that not only was MY FACTORY ENGINE STILL UNDER WARRANTY (until they pulled it and replaced with the garbage in it now) but they had to call and VERIFY that a used engine was installed??? I asked the service manager if they were the ones who installed, he stated NO! It was Sudden Impact and also verified that they got it out of the 'junk yard' and that there were several internal leaks and I would have MANY problems with this engine.
They provided a rental under my factory warranty for the 1st day. When I contacted Sudden Impact minutes later, I received cold and poor customer service, again. I asked what he was going to do, and basically without saying, was told NOTHING!!! I started this process thinking that I had researched enough and had chosen the right company to repair and return my car, my baby, in the same condition prior to the accident.
I NEVER had any engine problems, steering issues and my engine was pretty. Now I have a Junk Yard, Defective, Used, Full of Leaks!!! that breaks down every other week. Had I found these reports before I took the car to them, I would have taken it somewhere else . My nightmare only continues... I hope they will do the right thing and replace the junk they installed. I have never been lied to sooo much, had sooo many promises broken OR been treated sooo Poorly. After they received the over $10, 000 charged to me and my insurance company, they wont make it right.
