Suit mart stores had a retail salesman that made derogatory statements to my husband about his size (weight) and commented that he was not a normal size while he was shopping for a wedding suit in there stores. I spoke with a Mr. Gary Dante' whom assured me he would take care of this issue and I requested that the only resolution that would be satisfactory to me is if they had my husband come back into the store and outfit him with a suit at their cost. Mr. Dante confirmed verbally over phone that this would not be a problem and we also had e-mail correspondence that he would notify me when the merchandise came in and various communications on what was understood to be amicably agreed. We remained in contact until the merchandise Mr. Dante previously asked me to wait two weeks to come in arrived and when my husband came into the store instead of covering the cost of the suit as was originally agreed by all parties they only wanted to offer 20% off of a suit. Needless to say both my husband and I were outraged at how we have been pushed around during this whole ordeal and how parties could amicably agree to have someone come in and take time off work to later get in the store and be told something totally different that was never discussed. This action has shown that Mr. Dante and suit mart stores are not remorseful for how my husband was treated nor did they ever intend to right the wrong of this situation. I have since contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Federal trade commission. I wanted to see if any news agency would be interested in picking up this story as I have all correspondence and have kept impeccable records not the mention the emails from the Better business bureau that all detail how insensitive and untrustworthy management at Suit Mart stores have been since day one of this whole ordeal. Please contact me via email at
[email protected] if you can provide any further assistance as I am outraged at how this company has responded to the issue at hand.
