In April of 2010, my husband and I attended one of their timeshare presentations in Georgetown. We sat through the 90 minute presentation, decided not to purchase and were given certificates for a "free" cruise and "free" airfare. We decided to try the cruise since we have never cruised before. We filled in the paperwork appropriately, sent our cashier's check for $498 and filled out the request forms asking for a cruise from Miami on October 24th.
It is now October 5th. I have been trying for the last few weeks to reach someone either by phone or e-mail to determine if this is going to happen or not. I need to arrange for airfare, take time of from work, etc. No one responds to my e-mails and the 877 number rolls over to voice mail and no one returns my calls. I really wasn't concerned until I started reading all the complains about both Sunshine and Away We Go.
I then found out that there was a lawsuit filed in DC on August 2, 2010 for the very same thing. The Complaint, brought by the Attorney General, can be found at http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/08/13/Sunshine.pdf
I'd love to know if anyone actually received a cruise or whether I've been totally ripped off. If anyone at Sunshine Promotions or Away We Go would like to reach me, I can be reached at [email protected].
