WE ARE A LOCAL, INDEPENDENTLY OWNED BUSINESS IN BIRMINGHAM, AL. SUNTRUST HAS BEEN CHARGING OUT ACCOUNT A $29 FEE FOR THE PAST 18 MONTHS FROM 1ST DATA EVEN THOUGH THE 2 COMPANIES HAVE MERGED; THE CHARGE IS FOR NO SERVICE THAT IS PROVIDED. FURTHERMORE, AS OUR CREDIT CARD PROCESSOR, SUNTRUST/1ST DATA, AUTOMATICALLY DEBIT THE COMPANY ACCOUNT WHEN THERE IS A CHARGE DISPUTE, THEN ASK ME FOR PROOFF OF MY RECEIPT. THEY SEND IT ON A PARTICULAR DATE, AND EXPECT THAT I GET IT THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY, WHEN IN FACT, I DO NOT RECEIVE THE DISPUTE PAPER WORK UNTIL 4 CALENDAR DAYS LATER.
ALSO THE CREDIT CARD TERMINAL THEY PROVIDE...WE HAD TO REPLACE IS AFTER LESS THAN 1 YEAR BECAUSE THE RECEIPT WOULD NOT PRINT STRAIGHT WITHOUT SOME ONE HOLDING THE PAPER; IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS SINCE WE GOT THE NEW MACHINE, AND THE SAME ONLD PROBLEM HAS ARISEN ONCE AGAIN.
ALSO CONCENRING CUSTOMER INFORMATION SAFETY, WE HAD CONTACTED THEM NUMEROUS TIMES PREVIOUSLY ABOUT THE TERMINAL PRINTING THE CUSTOMER'S FULLY ACCOUNT NUMBER ON MY RECEIPT, WHICH MANY OF MY CUSTOMERS WERE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH. UPON TALKING WITH THEM, THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED TAHT INFORAMATION IN CASE THERE WAS A DISPUTE. AFTER I HAD YET ANOTHER CUSTOMER COMPLAIN, I CALLED THE COMPANY, AND THEY WALKED ME THROUGH A PROCESS THAT TOOK OVER 1 HOUR TO UPDATE MY MACHINE SO IT WOULD NOT PRINT THE NUMBER ON THE RECEIPT (BUT I THINK IT STILL PRINTS THE NUMBER ON THE END OF DAY REPORT) BUT THE REPRESENTATIVE NEGLECTED TO TELL ME THAT RUNNING THE UPDATE WOULD ERASE ALL MY PRIOR TRANSATIONS (28, WHICH I HAD TO GO BACK AND MANUALLY KEY INTO THE TERMINAL).
MY EXPERIENCE, AND THAT OF MANY OTHERS HAS BEEN HORRIBLE WITH THIS MERCHANT THAT IS OUT TO GAIN A PENNY AT ANY COST...WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY SERVICE.
SOME ONE PLEASE HELP, AND LET'S DO SOMETHING TO STOP SUNTRUST/FIRST DATA.
