On September 24 I wet to a Site on the Internet called Trails.com to make a reservation for a business trip to Fortuna, CA. Way in advance and within the time required, (24 hrs) I called the Motel to let them know that I needed to change my time of arrival and departure, to a later date in October, due to circumstances that where out of my control. The lady there with and Indian accent booked me for the later days in October, 2009. Again well in advance and within the time limit required by SUPER MOTEL 8, in Fortuna, I called again, since I needed to cancel the reservation all together. When I called the manager of the Motel, (The Lady with the Indian accent) she told me that since I had made the reservation on the internet, she could not cancel the reservation, that I had to go on the Trails. com site and cancel the reservation there. So I did. When I attempted to cancel the reservation on the internet, a message came back telling me that I could not cancel the reservation there either. After finding the e-mal address of Trails.com I decided to send a personal e-mal to Trails.com to let them know that I needed to cancel the reservation I had made at Super 8 Motel in Fortuna. The email was sent on October 9, 2009, and the reservation was for October 13, and they require only 24 hours advance notice. In spite of me requesting for the cancellation, the manager of the Motel charge my credit card $180.00.
When I call the manager (The lady with the Indian accent. To explain that I had can celled through Trails.com, the lady told me she would not credit my credit card since this was a Trails.com fault. Trails.com advice me that they were not responsible and to contact the motel directly. So there you have it I was charge $180.00 by Super 8 Motel, in Fortuna, for nothing. And the Manager (The Lady with the Indian Accent) said that she would not refund the payment.
