This evening while shopping with my daughter I was ready to plown somebody!
Normally spending an average of 300.00 to 400.00 every week at your Langford Superstore branch here on the island, our experience has been, as always exceptional. Staff are super, always accommodating and helpful.
This has in the past been our store of preference for shopping until tonight.
Our cashier didn't say hello, only processed the purchase through the till, took the coupons for discounts and totaled the bill, took my credit card, oh and didn't return it, till I later noticed I did not have it, and checking for the correct signature must be optional too!.
During the processing, we indicated that there should be a 25.oo gift card that we are eligible for. The cashier responded saying that this discount does not start today. She did not provide a gift card. Superstore coupons are at the entrance and are available. Staff have been advertising this gift card for a day or so and this was one of the reasons we where purchasing our groceries this evening.
My daughter started to review the bill after I payed and found several errors. The cashier was now busy with the next customer and to my surprise the conveyor belt with our groceries started to move, pushing them into each other (we had a lot). I looked at the cashier and said your squishing my bread! There was this blank look on her face, not sorry I pushed the wrong button, no comment at all! She did this again and my groceries continued to pile up on each other. I said again, looking at her and starting to get angry " I hope my eggs aren't broken and then I stopped and checked them. Still no response from our cashier. This happened four times, and I'm getting a little bent out of shape by this time.
I couldn't get my groceries packed fast enough before they got pushed again and again.
In the meantime, my daughter had found some double charges and missed coupon credits on the bill she was checking and told the cashier (she had no comment, just that same blank look !). Well by this time I'm no longer surprised! In frustration we indicated we would have customer service rectify the billing errors. We continued to pack the groceries, went over to customer service, explained the situation. We told customer service about the cashier's attitude. Following a phone conversation with the two of them, to clarify the purchase discrepancies, she agreed with our comments and provided the credits due and the 25.00 gift card, confirming the gift card was due to us and that we had been overcharged.
I have always enjoyed shopping at your store but I feel very serious about taking my business elsewhere after tonight. I don't usually get worked up about things but I was at the point, that if some of the eggs where broken, I thought of throwing them at her!
Thank you for allowing me to provide my concerns and I hope to hear your response to my complaint.
Your valued customer Carla Duchaine.
