UNLAWFUL USE OF DEBIT CARD
SWIPEBIDS.COM deducted $150.00 out of my bank account with my debit card number claiming that I was the high bidder on something--I have no idea what it was nor how they got my card number; it was never mentioned in my complaint what the bid was for or when it took place. They did refund it after I threatened them with FTC! I'm checking with my bank now since I can't go back further than 11 pages online. I think it was about 2-3 months ago. I will send another notice when I find out the dates so that you might be able to do something. They are very, very, very corrupt!!

swipebids.com steals another 150 dollars from consumer
When I signed up with swipebids.com they did not give all the details. I signed up because I thought it was a free membership along with 300 free bids and 60 free bids everytime you sign onto the site. Well, what was not mentioned was that when you sign up you are agreeing to pay 150 dollars for a year membership. They also timed me and gave me only 2 minutes to process all their information and to give them mine. They claimed that because of the amount of people signing up that I will miss my opportunity if I wasn't finished signing up in 2 minutes. The statement that they will charge my card 150 must have been in small print and not noticable because I would have never signed up with this useless site if I knew it would cost that much. You cannot be refunded this money if you bid at all after becoming a member. I have gone through my bank's dispute center, my ID protection center, till I reached consumer's rights. No one can help. I went back onto their site today and started the sign up process with a different name and they have changed the whole website around. Now the whole deal is right out in the open and very noticable (they also do not time you anymore.) IF YOU HAVENT SIGNED UP WITH THEM YET.. DO NOT SIGN UP!! IT IS A RIP OFF AND YOU DON'T ACTUALLY WIN ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO PUT A LOT OF MONEY AND TIME INTO BIDDING. Also the reward ladder that you climb by "bidding and winning auctions" takes 200, 000 bids to win the reward. I have done the math. If you do not buy bid packs ( they are extremely expensive) if you bid for bid packs you will win 40 bids for about $1.05... soo 200, 000 bids at 1 dollar for 40 will eventually cost you around $5000. Why spend $5000 to get a computer set up that is about $3000, the reward includes 10, 000 bids. I discussed my calculations with an online chat representative for the company and told her thats a rip off and she answered "so"...It is a scam. I've also read reports on how people will bid and win an auction but the site tells them they didn't actually win the item because of a computer malfunction. Also, people that have received the products say that they do not work.

This site is totally misleading. They will not give me my money. They will not respond to my e-mails in order to start the process they say you must go through in order to get your money.

Instantly stole $150 from my account
I registered with swipebids and nowhere on their registration information did they tell you that they would take $150 out of your checking account instantly and that you bought 300 bids at 50 cents each for a year until after you registered and until after they took your money without your permission.

false advertising
The following URL, http://www.swipebids.com/landing2206B.php?catid=11&awt_l=C0E0w&awt_m=L0ME5kMPl038rx, found on facebook, only shows electronics so i thought they were dealing with just electronics.

That site led me to the URL, http://www.swipebids.com/registration_pg1.php, which further led me to believe it is electronics, so I signed up.

They do not indicate they are taking $150 from your account up-front.

This URL, http://www.swipebids.com/index.php shows things you can bid on after signing up. It does have some electronics, but I signed up thinking it I would be bidding on more electronics, particularly laptops & accessories. Once logged in you find very few electronics. I found 1 item of interest. I did try thier site and found out my $150.00 worth of bidding would not get me even close to winning the item. They require you buy more bids at 50 cents per bid. It would have cost several hundred more dollars to win it.

An example is Auction ID: 2169609, (actual auction, as I am logged into thier site for informational purposes only). The time is 04:26pm central (could be a little off because I am slow to type). At this very moment the item is at $313.96. Bids go up by 1 cent, so there have been 31, 396 bids. 1 bid cost 50 cents. According to my calculations, thats $15, 698.00 (please correct me if I am wrong). They require you to buy bids in bulk. Clearly a scam.

Unauthorized charge
RIP OFF SITE. DON'T BE FOOLED! Came upon their website through MSNBC.com. Signed up thinking it was a similar auction site like e-bay. I didn't see anywhere on the site that I would be charged $150 to my credit card. Right after I signed up, a screen came up saying that I had 300 bids credited to my account. It just seemed suspicious so I checked by credit card account and I was charged. Of course their site has no phone number to call but they do have a "live chat" option. I demanded my money be refunded and my registration be cancelled and they said that they can cancel me (of course) but could not refund or remove the charge (of course). I will still pursue fighting this charge.

Membership of $150 dollars that you are not informed about and buys you nothing.

Bids cost 50c but you need $2.50 to bid on an item and the auction amount does not go up accordingly. So telling the public that something like an iPad was sold for $100 is a lie.

You also do not know who is making the bids and I suspect insider bidding to keep you on the hook and to exhaust your bids.

This is gambling in it's purest form and the authorities should treat it as such.
