To make a very long story short, I was using an old computer while my main one was being repaired. It did not have an active virus protection program running. All of a sudden, I was swamped with viruses, trojans, you name it. I figured activating the Norton virus protection was a small price to pay for a few days of peace. I went through all the steps, assuming I was dealing with Norton. The bottom line was that I'd downloaded something called System Tool, for a cost of $79.99 for a "lifetime" license. The software is totally useless and certainly not what I wanted, so I went to the supplier and requested a refund. Of course, that was the last I heard from them. Beware of System Tool, which also is a virus/infection itself. I'm back to using my main PC but $79.99 lighter without any benefit.
