This is how it works...They "interview" a whole bunch of folks Monday and Tuesday...They "hire" the least messed up looking of the bunch to return Wednesday for unpaid training. You are now being trained to demonstrate the "greatest multi-system home cleaning unit on the planet". It's a good product, no doubt. It performs great. It out-sucks several other good vacuums they have for the training session. You are sold on the fact that it works great...Then the Bulls*t starts...
They tell you you’re going to legit appointments where the people “already want to buy it", BUT they really have set up an appointment for a "free carpet cleaning" and have no idea you are going to go all over their house, keep them for 90 minutes to 2 hours so you can sell them a Kirby Vacuum for, the bargain price of ONLY $2299.00
Yup, TWO THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED and NINETY NINE Friggin' dollars! IN THIS ECONOMY!!!??
Well, not to worry, they have FINANCING available at a mere 26% Oh, but if the person DOES finance it, the interest comes out of YOUR COMMISSION...
WAIT...IT GETS BETTER...
You believe in the product, and you find out there IS a little flexibility in the price, and they may let it go for $1800. It has a lifetime guarantee, and, well you need a job, so...OK...you comeback tomorrow for more unpaid training...
You practice going over the sales pitch and learn to work the unit and all the attachments, you might even learn something...And you figure that they said they’d pay $500 a week and $200 dollars a sale (actually you have to make it to 15 appointments and collect 30 leads from each appointment to get the $500, AND, if you sell 2 that week, you just get $500 - IF you meet the other requirements...If you sell 3, you’d get $600 that week (providing of course you made the other 12 demos AND collected hundreds of "leads"...Remember, this was the product EVERYBODY wanted, and when you interviewed they had "More inquires than sales people" and "That's why we're hiring".
Again, you say, well, it is a great product, I guess I can do this...Hell, once I sell 12, I get a promotion and start making $400 a sale...This could work.
HOWEVER, IF someone came to your house for your free carpet cleaning, and asked you to let them show you the product AFTER, would YOU give out 30 friends or family members’ numbers to this carpet cleaning/demo person BEFORE YOU'VE EVEN SEEN IT WORK????
They want you to ask the homeowner to fill out a sheet of names and numbers while you're setting up the equipment to "save time"... There's a special way to set up your "stage" in the persons living room so that you are facing out to them (this is correct and makes sense). BUT, as part of your stage, you stand the box up and then hang the vacuum bag down from the left side of the box so it HIDES THE LIST PRICE OF $1699... THAT'S PRINTED ON THE BOX!!!...
Remember, you're asking $2299 for this indispensable piece of home cleaning technology...If they buy it, you keep the box...
NOW it gets good...You use their vacuum and do the carpet a dozen times. Then you get the Kirby and put a glass box demo collection bin where the bag goes and "pull a dirt pad'...This is a legit demo. You turn on the vacuum for like 3 seconds, on the space you cleaned a dozen times with their vacuum, and it sucks up a whole bunch of grit and dirt that piles up on this disc, or 'dirt pad'. Replace the pad, and do it again, moving the head about six inches, again the 'dirt pad' is covered with sand and grit the other vacuum missed. No doubt. It works, Hell, that's why YOU'RE still there...
NOW, Repeat this 20 times, leaving these 'dirt pads' every six inches as you go. Then, go to the kitchen; use the special head attachment to suck some crud out from under the front of the fridge and cabinets. It will work, and you leave more dirt pads all around the kitchen and the demo continues.
NOW, they want you to "gather up the 30' cord" (the longest in the industry) "place it in the home owners hand" and ask them to follow you... FOLLOW YOU!!!...IN THEIR FRIGGIN' HOUSE!!!...TO THE BEDROOM!!! Ask them "What is the dirtiest place in the house; yet the one where you spend the most time?" Answer? THE BED...You are now supposed to pull off their covers and vacuum the bed, using the 2-3 second 'dirt pad' demo mode and leave a bunch more pads next to the bed (remember, you've been leaving these friggin' pads all over the house to remind them how filthy their home is)...
OK, you've worked your ass off, showed the unit and it obviously works. Now you tell them they can have this one TODAY, for as little as $1.00, and make payments, or just write a check, or use their CC for $2299...They bum out, tell you it's great, BUT it's too much... You then begin to BEG. YUP, BEG. Ask them for more referrals and tell them you won't get paid if you don't get them. Ask them if you could reduce the price by 200, would they buy it (of course you have to call and 'beg' your 'manager' for an authorized discount)...Still too much?...Call your mentor again, and beg them more - (in front of the customer, like you're trying real hard to get them a special deal) and they'll drop it to $1800...AND, you'll enter them into a 'special contest' to win some trip or other BS... Still too high?...No Kidding... YOU CAN BUY THEM NEW ON EBAY FOR LESS THAN $900... THESE RATS PAY LESS THAN $800 for these things. THEY GET $400 each (the head distributor and your 'manager') if you sell it for $1800!!! DIE, VACUUM BIOTCH, DIE!!!..RUN AWAY!!..RUN AWAY!!
This is the REAL DEAL...They run these employment ads every week (I went in September, and have noticed the ads ever since).
You decide you'll try it, and the first weekend you're supposed to set up as many 'demos' as you can with friends, family, neighbors... ANYONE who might be sympathetic enough to you and you're "new career" to let you "practice" with them and MAYBE, just MAYBE... even BUY one...Say 12 people start the training, and 6 actually stick it out and give it a try...These six people are going to do (at least 3 each - they want you to do 4 or more) so, lets just say, 18 demos to sympathetic folks. MAYBE, each of those six people sells ONE... JUST ONE each that weekend...WELL,
You ALL just worked for free for 4 or 5 days, and the vacuum biotch and her boss made $2400 EACH...And YOU made nothing...I don't believe anybody stays. WHY would they be running these ads EVERY FRIGGIN WEEK??.
They're simply running a numbers game. If they train people for three days, send you out to YOUR OWN LEADS, and if only 3 units are sold, JUST 3 a week, these 'managers' earn at least $1200 a week off YOU and YOURS... and you never got paid.
They should be investigated at the least... I hope this helps shut them down!
