Fraudulent collection attempt
Fraudulent attempt to make collections on false debt (Columbia House). Threatens to report debt to collection bureau unless immediate payment is made. Persistent automated calls as well as live calls.

Fraudulent Collection
We have been receiving phone calls from the Takhar Group several time now. They say to call their 800 number during business hours or go to their website. When I called their 800 number I got a recording that asked for my name and phone number. If I go to their website, they have a search engine that allows you to enter your phone number and zip code to do a search. I did that and there were no results, so they have no file on us.
Clearly they are making random robot calls, fishing for "marks, " getting personal information, and then using generic persuasion to convince people they owe money. Nobody at the phone number they call has any debt, so they either have the wrong number, or they are truly fraudulent. The overwhelming number of complaints here, and at RipOffReport.com show clearly that they are perpetrating a fraud.

Frequent unwanted call from automated phone
I received automated phone about unknown problem. Tried to call and received busy signal. Went to Takhar website and phone call was about some unknown person debt collection. No way to inform them of this mistake.

Phone Calls
Company calls with recorded message either saying how rude you are for not returning calls or just that they have made numerous tries to contact me. I am on the phone almost every single time they have called and no one is there but this recording. I am completely annoyed and tired of them placing these calls and need some help.

Bad service
These people apparently are a collection group...at first when they called they made it sound like a chance to make money..I'm not into money schemes so I ignored those calls...then they tried to make it sound like they are doing me a favour by contacting me and I would be missing out on making money by not calling them back...still didn't return their calls!! Now they are stepping it up now they are ordering me to return their calls.."we expect a return call immediately" which was said in a rather rude tone..needless to say I pressed 7 erased that message and hung up..unbelievable!

They have called our house saying to contact them via phone or go to their website. We have never had an account with Columbia House.
