I regularly book Tiger Air Ticket (To & Fro ~ Singapore-ShenZhen) almost on every month.
On the 1st of September 2010, while I was doing my booking through the Internet again for my October trip, I faced difficulty and found the system is not as user friendly as before. I realized that the system for booking is slightly not the same as before too. During my keying in of particulars when reaching the selection of seats, as I did not want to select seat, the system refused me from advancing. After attempting, the system darkens down and I waited. Then I retried again on the Non Seat Selection, and it darkens down again. I tried to go to next page. And perhaps at the duration I accidentally clicked something by accident. Then the confirmation page appeared. Then I realized and shocked about the amount turned out to be S$ 927.00, which is double and almost triple the price of the 2-Ways tickets that I intended to book.
Immediately, I made few calls to the Tiger Airways office but with no avail. Hence, I wrote to Tiger Airways' office to seek help and assistance, via post and fax. I was hoping that they could look into this matter with flexibility and understanding. After waited for 2 weeks and there was still no reply from them. Then I faxed them the letter again. Two days later, they replied by phone call. Their answer is simple, "They cannot do anything".
I frequent travel to Shenzhen via Tiger Airways because of Budget air fares. How could I probably spend that big amount like this incident? I would rather travel by other airways instead. Is this value for money? I guess not. Anyway, this is a great disappointment and I would not want to travel with Tiger Airways again. I really feel that being cheated. Friends are asking me to put this incident to the SPH or ST Stomp.
Hope that people will be more careful when making their booking on line. Bear in mind that you can never get help or reaching the right office people as the staff will simply tell you that there is no Tiger Airways' office in Singapore but in Australia.
