Dissed me and my mother
October 13, 2010
Disrepect/foul language by security
On 10-13-2010 at approximately 6:00 p.m. I was in the Target store in San Bernardino, CA. While waiting to conduct by business, I witnessed an exchange between an African-American, female security guard and a young man. The young man was attempting to purchase items needed to participate in the Cal-Works Program. He was told that this transaction must be done before 5:00 p.m. He asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. Instead of calling the supervisor or manager, security was called. The Black female security officer approached the young man and said"Fuck you and your mother". She then called a male security officer, who immediately got in the young man's face, talking very rudely. This all happened for no apparent reason, as the young man was polite and instigated no trouble. Your security officers apparently have control issues and are abusing what authority they think they have. These type of employees are a liability to Target. I don't know if Target has had any problems in the past, but someone will come along, who can afford an attorney and cause legal problems for these to ignorant individuals.

double charged
I paid cash for products and was charged on a target card also. I was not informed by the associate that my purcase would be put on a target card in order to receive 10% dicount and the associate charged the card and also took my cash. I did not know the card was charged until two months later when I received a bill. I filed a dispute with the target stores and went to the store where I made my purchase and the manager said she would look into it through the video at the store, then she came back and told me she couldn't go back that far. She also stated that the store does not count drawers the just bag the money and take it to the bank and the bank only notifies the store if they are short not if they are over. The dispute associate claimed that they found the receipt with my signature on it and I informed her that I was led to believe that I was just signing to get the 10% dicount not agreeing to pay with the card. I would have never applied for the card if I had known I would be charged twice. Now they call me everyday at least two times a day bugging me to pay what was already paid. I will never shop at target again and I am letting everyone I know what they have done. The store or it's employee riped me off.

Defective computer system
I ordered three items related to car batteries (special jumper-cable type products that work through the cigarette lighter in the car or cars) back in early August. After several attempts to use them (one was solar-powered, and designed to keep a car battery from running out of juice when not in use), with little or no success--I finally started my car by rolling it down the hill!!--I decided to return the worthless products to the nearest Target store (as it said I could do when I ordered them), then shop for some other things that I might want.
My next bad experience was looking for a non-existent receipt. When I went back on-line, the web site said I had never ordered anything at all!! Luckily I still had the box, with my name and address and the return address, as well as the credit card bill with the charges from Target, so I decided to go to the store anyway.
When I arrived, they (naturally) said I would need a receipt, and we went to their store computer, which repeated my previous experience. Luckily, when I persisted (and since I had the box, the three items and my credit card bill) the clerk made a phone call to someone who was able to confirm the purchases and authorize her to refund the original cost, minus the shipping charges.
I asked if they were going to refund the shipping charges, since the items were clearly useless, and the person on the phone suggested that I go home and call Target. I absolutely refused, since at that point I would no longer have the items, there was no receipt, and no one could see my credit card bill over the phone or on line!!
At that point I asked for a supervisor, who spent almost thirty minutes on the phone to get my lousy $16 worth of shipping refunded. The supervisor, who was very nice and understood (and knew that the lack of a receipt was an ongoing problem) should have had the right to make the refund on the spot, without wasting any more of my time (or hers). I was there for nearly an hour at the counter to return three defective items, mainly because of Target's defective computer system compounded by their defective policies toward almost everyone!!!
I left the store without buying anything at all, and I can't really think of a reason ever to buy anything from Target Stores again, either on-line or in person.

Prejudice
My husband and I went to the Target store in West Sacramento, CA one Sunday morning to make a small purchase. When we got to the register, a woman was assisting a white gentleman in front of us. She was extremely courteous to him and at the end she wished him a good day. When it was our turn, she didn't greet us at all...not even a smile. The only time she spoke was to give us the total of our transaction. After I gave her the money, she gave me the bag and did NOT wish us a good day. There was another white gentleman behind us and we overheard her give him a very pleasant and elaborate greeting. Very disappointing.

refusing to fill a prescription
I am a 60 year old woman who suffers from a lot of pain due to fibromyalgia, and am treated by a Dr. in Orlando, once a month, which is 100 miles round trip. I have had many of my prescriptions filled at the Target store on Merritt Island for quite a few years.
I have always filled my prescription for pain medication at the Merritt Island store with no problem, because they take my insurance, and have always given great service, and always had the medication in stock.
About 6 months ago, they refused to fill my prescription, because it was from Orlando, and told me they would no longer fill any prescriptions from Orlando, because apparently someone attempted to pass a fraudulant prescription for pain medication in our county. I understand the major problem with pain meds, and fraudulent prescriptions in this country, but why punish the honest hard working people, who have intense pain, legitimate Dr's and prescriptions? My sister who also suffers from Fibromyalgia, is in the same situation that I am in, , and she is on disability.
So because of that incident, , they refused to fill my prescription anymore, , even though I have filled my pain medication there for over a year, , and I am on file as a regular customer. I could understand if they refuse to accept any future prescriptions from the Orlando area, but to deprive me, a regular customer, seems unfair.
So now because of this, I have to drive all over Orlando, a city I am unfamiliar with, , trying to find a pharmacy who accepts my insurance, and will fill my meds. One day I spent 6 hours trying to fill my prescription, which is very painful to be in a car that long. If I can't find a store that has the entire amount, I am forced to take a partial order, and drive back to Orlando, another 100 miles to pick up the remaining order when they come in.
I don't know if this is Target's nation wide regulation, or if the Merritt Island store has taken this on as their own rule.
I couldn't get anywhere with the pharmacists in the Merritt Island store, can you help me? P. Wilkin [email protected]

employee treatment
I worked at Target for quite a while. They put on a front that you are working in a happy atmosphere, but it's all a game. The management is the worst iv'e seen by far. They think they are above the employees, and at lunch time they all sit and eat together, getting take-out food Every day while us pee-on's are barely affording to eat our $5.00 meals . Our food is not company paid for, but their's sure is. It is clear why no one speaks to you in the break rooms. Freedom of speech is not allowed at Target even though they don't say that, and anything you do or say get's you a write up, even by being late to lunch. Yes, how Stupid. They are a very biased company. They push us to get credit card sales. The customers are whom I feel the most sorry for at Target. The company does not care about you. Customers are not seen as people, but merely profit, that's why they push cashiers to ask customers for credit cards instead of letting the customer have a more pleasant experience as they are getting their purchases rung thru, we don't even have to say anything else to the customer except try and squeeze every dime out of their pocket. Talk about jobs going overseas? Yes, they even have Target in India, that's where most of the products are made anyway.
