Poor service!
To start with, I took this connection about an year ago or more than that. They didn't have any setup charges if I pay them a lump-sum for 6 months together, however I was never aware that is a catch all about and am landing to a biggest trouble in my life. I paid them the amount for 6 months, it took them 3-4 days to get it installed, I was happy spped was not that impressive but I had 24 hours connectivity to internet. Soon after sometime problems started when after every few days, there was one or the other problem.
I called up their customer-care services, number bot in use. Finally got the number after dialing "Dial-in services", then got connected to someone sitting in pune, who asked me all sorts of weird questions and at the end of it told me I am forwarding it to the relevant department, who will contact you shortly and will resolve your issue, gave me a reference number. I waited for few days nothing worked no one visited. Later on I called up there center again, now this time it was a girl I was speaking with, again asked me all sorts of weird question and said I am re-forwarding the request as the reference number you are giving me on my system it says the issue has been resolved already by the department, they visited your place as well and found everything ok. Which was a total lie as noone even visited nor the problem was sorted.

Now it was already 7th day... I was really getting frustrated I called up again now this time I was speaking to person in hyderabad, I suppose then I asked him that I would like to speak to supervisor, he said no supervisors are available, when I asked him when will they be available. He said I am not too sure, I asked him if they can call me back, he first said no, then after some time trying to finish my call, he said "I am sending the mail to my supervisor, who will call you in when they are free." I waited for 2 -3 days, no one turned up no calls been made, surprisingly problem automatically was sorted out... but it was not sweet for long, thereafter what happened at night problem arose again, now i was furious called and this time I was speaking to some1 in Delhi/pune I don't remember, but she was a manger as per what she told me, she said I've noted these details and she'll personally get this sorted out for me as there have been some line breakage in my area, I asked her a simple question why can't they inform their customers about it and moreover they must provide some alternative to their customer she apologized and told me you validity would be extended and would be sorted out very soon however refused to provide and specific time.

Problem was sorted out after 3 days finally after another couple of calls.
Then after few weeks again a problem, I have just lost it... now it was getting on my nerves... I no more required any solution-I called them and told them "Since the day I've taken this connection, I've always had one or the other problem, nothing been sorted out for me as yet, so I need my money back." They said as its a prepaid a/c we can't refund, no I've hardly used their connection... no services been provided and as per the inconvenience I've faced with TATA I should have got my money back. This is not all, after so many complaints finally I can use my connection and this was the time i used my connection for more than 20 days... the maximum time I would have used the connection continuously since the time I've bought this connection.
However now it came the day to renew it, so I just thought giving it another chance toTATa, and renew it finally rather than going for a hassle to take any other co.'s connection.

It worked all fine for few days... however again the link/no browsing problem started... they again gave reference numbers and said will extend validity everytime happed during weekends, I wonder why? And I m not too sure if they even added the value to my pack or just said like that. Now, about few days ago my another renewal was due on 17092007 which has not come, however they says you have only Rs. 11 in your account, you cannot use it. I told the customer care representative you should have at least called me to inform about the renewal, no calls made, nor any communication made and you have suspended my connection, they had no answer to it.

Now I said I need to access it they said you need to renew it, I aid okay how do I do it instantly, the agent "Nitin" was his name---so called floor supervisor said you can renew the a/c oer the internet paying online, I paid thru my ICICI bank Netbanking as per ICICI they have made a payment straight-a-way to vsnl TAT indicom Broadband However as per VSNL they have yet not received the payment. They can't send me a written confirmation saying that they have not received the payment so that I would take it further with ICICI bank why payment is deducted from my account, I know they have that money and someone is not doing there duty. I told them to start my services again or return my money, they say they have not received the payment.

Not activating night unlimited plan!
I have bb connection in tata indicom. My validity period was expire so call the exe of tata indicom bb, he came with renewal pack eve but that time it was not activated and i told him to activate night unlimited plan. He said it will activate automatically today night. But still it is not activate now my balance 100 only!

Beware of their poor service!

No connectivity!
Tata indicom broadband service is pathetic, my connection is not working for 10 days this time only. Last month it was down for 20 days. Despite calling the customer care every day nothing has been done till today. I tried to contact the senior person at customer support but they sey no body is picking up the phone i think they just transfer you call to empty cabin. There is no update what so ever about the restoration on connection. I am fed up with their service. Please do not take it you have alternative. Or i think better not to have any internet as poor service is worse then no service and you end up with losing your money.

Crap service provider!
Tata indicom broadband is to put it simply ‘the worst internet service provider on the planet’. I would strongly thoroughly discourage any human being from buying a tata indicom broadband connection.

Very quickly let me get into the reason why i would like YOU TO NOT BUY A TATA INDICOM BROADBAND CONNECTION AT ANY COST!!!

Although my connection is of tata indicom (service provided by Videsh sanchar nigam ltd , yes VSNL itself !!) my connection actually comes through a shady cable operator through which tataindicom operates in my are & thats where the major problem lies. To say i have frequent disconnections would be a thorough understatement. These disconnections or unavailability of service is 99% due to some fault of the local cable operator through which tatavsnl provides me the broadband connection. Apparently tatavsn does not exercise any supervision over the local cable operator & the connection is completely at his mercy. There is a tata vsnl engineer in place , but that doesn't help much. There are times when some wire comes lose at the local cable operators office & the connection goes kaput , then there are times when the switch located in my building goes kaput or the wire lets out , or the power to the switch goes off , there are just too many complications here. Ive been using this service ( or to term it better - been buying the accounts) for the past 2 years & have been through every bad experience possible which one can have with an ISP.

Ive called up the helpdesk who have lodged my complaint , however no one has got back to me. I called up the helpdesk again to inform them that my complaint hasnt been resolved & to not close my complaint, as it has happened in a few cases earlier that the engineer of tatavsnl closed the
complaint from his side without even bothering to check with me if it has been resolved !! And in some cases if the connection has worked for a few minutes and again gone down which happens more frequently , the helpdesk people confirmed me that they close the complaint at their end if the user logs in. In my experience with tataindicom no issue is resolved with just a couple of hours of testing , it resurfaces back again in a few hours or the next day which has happened in my case.

I’m unable to believe that a company as big as tata vsnl is at the mercy of the small time cable operator.

The problem also lies majority at the middle management level. The helpdesk must have a process in place by which the complaints are sent across to the local offices and from there to the field engineers, however what looks like here is the middle management has a slack attitude. Either they do not pass on the information to the field engineers or the field engineers aren't able to do the job due to lack of either knowledge or simply a care damn attitude as neither of them seem to be answerable to anyone. Thus the complaint isn't attended to days on end. Wonderful!

Why you should take a tata indicom broadband connection ?

If you have too much black money with you, if you want to suffer from hypertension, if you long to feel like being cheated out of your hard earned money, if you like to jump through red taped attitudes, if your hobby is to be endlessly on the phone (you just might end up doing that with their helpdesk), then i would highly recommend you to go for a tata indicom broadband connection. OTHERWISE DO NOT GO FOR TATA INDICOM BROADBAND CONNECTION AT ANY COST!!! Avoid it like a plague!

My connection has been down since a week now , i had given a complaint at the helpdesk , they gave me a complaint number & assured me my problem would be resolved withing 4 hours (i think they meant 4 hours on pluto & not earth as it has been over a week already). I have typed all this in a notepad & pasted it over the mtnl free dialup connection.

Under broadband name they give dialup speed
Tataindicombroadband.com don't call this is broadband Please call Tataindicomdilup.com. When Tata enter Broadband business In there Broadband unlimited or limited Plans there speed like dialup speed & till date they not change there infrastructure, only they change the way of taking the money from customers. Right now they get money from there customers in advice not give proper service.

This is cheating with every customers & with their money!

Thugs who are snatching our money and making profits...
In April I applied an internet connection to Tata Indicom Broadband. I paid for 6 month 128 kbps unlimited package. Since I am staying in a rented flat, at the time of taking the connection, I asked the company representative that if I need to change the flat, could the connection be transfered. He said it would be transfered wherever I go subject the company is serving in that new area.

Around 20 days later, I had to change my flat and for the convenience, I take a new flat in the same locality around 600 meters away from the older one. After shifting, I requested for connection shift to the company and many times talked to customer care, but nothing had happened. At last they are saying that the company is not providing connection in my society, so it cannot be transfered and according to No refund policy, company will not refund my money also. Here at the new location, I came to know that the company does provide internet services to the adjacent building.

I communicated this to company people that a cable can be drawn from that building to my building but they are making excuses.

Now I feel embarrassed and cheated. If this can happen in the city like Mumbai where all the corporates are located, I just can wonder that what would be going on with people in the other states of India.

Can somebody tell me where I can go and complain so that at least I can get my money back for the remaining period (not utilized because the internet connection which I took is active till October 2007).

Worst services offered by Tata Indicom
This is regarding the worst services offered by tata indicom and based on this i will proceed legally.

As i had applied for the Tata Indicom Broadband internet connection on 10-06-2007 with the marketing executive named Mr. Shivaram ( Film nagar area - jubilee hills ), filled the application and gave the cheque for 3146 rupees. He told me that the internet will get connected with in 3 days and broke the promise, now i had waited for 16 days following his requests but at last he is telling that it will take some more time and he is not sure about the time also. His superiors are not interested to talk with the clients according to his words... So whom should i go for and where should i complain, if i was not able to get internet with in 2 days, i will proceed legally and file a case against tata indicom.

Pathetic network connection
Well since I am quite frustrated, let me be brief about it. I have a connection in Dombivli (E). Right from the start, the connection had continuous message of requested timed out. Even 9 months down the line they are not able to resolve the issue in spite of numerous complaints. The main culprit is that they are using the low quality lease line of the DIS (Dombivli Internet Service).

Additional when the complaint is supposed to be closed, they do not take the customer feedback as to whether the complaint is closed or not, which means they close on the complaints without attending them at all.

Poor support team
Please refer to my inquiry number 1205673 and the complaints number 2651876 and 2684166. My internet connection just got activated on Monday, 11th June and today its Friday, 16th June. I am really sorry to inform you I never expected such worst connection from Tata Indicom and not to mention such poor support team who just doesn't know how to troubleshoot the issues. They are just playing around with trial and error method to troubleshoot the issue.

Please be informed I have lodged a complaint on Tuesday, 12th June because of several request timed outs in the link and also slow transfer rate of just 4-8 KBPS when I am being provided bandwidth of 256 KBPS. The second complaint was raised on Thursday,15th June because my connection went down completely. For both the above complaints I never got any feedback from anyone who just didn't bother to provide the updates to the customer. It was me who kept on calling the FE and customer care executives for the updates. I am highly frustrated about the support being provided from a brand like TATA Indicom, the Field Engineers are just good for nothing. They are not at all technically sound. I am having a very good experience in just 5 days ever since my connection got activated which I never expected. TATA Indicom is just fooling the customers.

Internet is always down!
Facing internet disconnection for 5 days in a week. No customer care staff or No technical engineers it's like a laundry shop. Never ever go for tata indicom broadband because it is not worth full for a paisa. Some useless human answering machines in the customer care (If you luckily get line to talk to the customer care, after several try). Illiterate customer care executives with zero (000) knowledge, above that never lets you to connect to the supervisor at any cost even if they are wrong.

Existing Customers are the least prioritized in tata indicom broadband. The worst service ever seen in the whole world.
