Cheating the customers on the Tariff Plans!
I have recently taken a TATA Indicom Walky post paid connection From the TATA Teleservices, Promanade Road, Cantonment Trichy, Tamilnadu, India. Initially they have shown me a tariff plan which says that 2000 minutes free to any local or national phone with a rental of 600 Rupees for month. Once I have paid the money and taken they phone, they started saying that the plan is only from TATA to TATA phone.

It leaves me with the following questions.

Is it requered for so reputed company like TATA, to stoop to such low levels and cheating the customers by given wrong information to the customers like the other companies.

I would request all the people who are reading this not to take any connections and phone from TATA Indicom. I am also going to lodge a complaint with TRAI very soon.

Delivery of non working inst. for new connection

With great enthusiasm and trust in the name of TATA , I applied for a wireless telephone on June 18th, 2007.

1. Your sales agents field rep Mr Ravi , took Rs 3122 with out a receipt and promised to delver a new telephone model with full futures.

2. After 48 hours a telephone was delivered in a NEW BOX and the delivery boy vanished with out explaining any futures.

3. The telephone did not work as expected and a due complaint was lodged on "121" on June 20th, 2007 and an action was promised . Typically a service technician by name Babu , walked in and informed that the unit is defective and will replace later - He did talk to the sales agents rep , regarding the model delivered.

4. Another 24 hours , the instrument will go in to hibernation mode as and when it likes , cutting of all communications.

5. We did call the agent who took the money , and one Mr Sukumar ( Mr Ravi told that he is MD ( this two letters should have more meaning I suppose), came on line and explained that the new unit will be given 24 hours.

6.After 24 hours , when we called him, he informed still they have not got the unit and he was trying to put me in touch with one Mr Venkat and I declined this invitation - it is futile to be talking to an executive in TATA's for a faulty instrument.

7. We did call the customer care, again and a service technician came - and replaced the old battery from another old instrument and left.

8. Again the instrument will go dead as and when it likes.

9. On the second day of installation, when I called , I was told by the customer care team that I have paid only Rs 2122/= and so I will get only the refurbished unit. When I made my point that we paid Rs 3122/= he took note of this and talk to the agent. From then on it started reflecting Rs 3122/= .

9a. While we have paid for ISTD facility this activation was done , till we complaint again nor we were asked, whether we asked this facility when verification was done.

10. Since i have gone on travel in between and called the Sales Agent again and they again promised some time on June 23, 2007, that "they will replace" and nothing happened.

11. When I demanded a receipt for the money we paid to the agent on June 30th, he promised to delver it by 6pm on that day . I still informed him that the unit is not working. As of today no receipt is given - imagination runs wild now.

12.Based on a new complaint on July 1st and I was informed that TATA will deliver a refurbished unit. The current unit is also refurbished as one can clearly see OK sticker in all places where ever the engineering dept could put. When I countered him , that where is the guarantee , that the " new " refurbished unit will work , he did make a note and left

13. In a span of 12 days -
- 3 technicians visited us
- half dozen tel calls to your customer care centre from Hyderabad
- 4 calls to the sales agent
- 1 call to the sales agent from another city in India
- an e mail to your center from India
- a call to your office on July 4, 2007 from an overseas country
to your customer care team and their supervisor
- and this mail

did not produce any tangible results.

If this email and these complaints do not open up the weak links in your system and nothing will do . At least please train your agents not to tell WHITE LIES just to get the target and get the incentive given by the TATA INDICOM

Would it be appropriate , if we demand that we are not charged anything from June 18th, 2007 till the date of promised instrument is delivered and functions satisfactorily at least for four weeks before we are charged.

or Would it be appropriate seek another service provider , Reliance who has similar services

or Would it be appropriate for us to write to you to return , the money that we paid Rs 3122/= and take back your instrument.

Or Would it be appropriate for the executives in this supply chain to digest the fact that for the past 3 months no new units are available in ap circle ( Words of Touchstone Teleserives executive) - and customers are taken for a ride.

I need to pin point that I am not the only one and I could locate in the web many such complaints - If this is our attitude, Perhaps a million remake of "Shiva -The Boss" will not make any difference except for the pop corn & coffee selling well for 3 hours for every show that is screened.

In a country where freedom was won from near slavery, with out use of bullets , by convictions and commitment , with the current path of stability , and if we are to go into the growth path , you may forward this mail to the chain of managers in your team.

Unfortunate broadband customer
I am an unfortunate customer of the Tata indicom Postpaid account. I took the connection in the mid of May and in less than one month I lost connection several times. I took the connection for my official purpose and needs to be online for 24 * 7 once in a month. Since the internet was not available in some of the weeks ends and week days, I need to spend those hours in my office itself unnecessarily. Whenever I called up the customer care, it says that the wait time is less than 15 mins and I need to hold the line for at least 15 to 20 mins to get my technical query addressed.

After raising the complaint, the response time was very bad which might exceed unto 2 days. If it is Sunday, it will extend unto 3 days. I already talk to the following persons in the Chennai VSNL office (Ranganathan and Karl Marx) and they assured me that my problem be resolved permanently. Even after giving the assurance, I lost connection almost 3 times.

I took a post paid connection worth Rs 3000 which is valid for 4 months. When I requested regarding the reimbursement, they said only Rs 500 will be returned and the rest will be considered as the Installation charge.

Also when I checked the reason for the down time, they are giving me simple reasons like "Server at Mumbai is down", "Link between chennai server and Mumbai server Failed" etc.

PS: This is not only situation, four of my colleagues are facing the same problem and we have no other option other than taking a parallel Airtel connection in order to be in the network.

Is this the reputation of TATA ?

Got exceeded bill than used
I have taken 2 TataIndicom postpaid connections in the month of December. As there was an offer (roaming incoming free) i used these connections for 2 months. But in the month of March, Tata Indicom has changed the plan and they started charging for incoming in roaming. Then i have I wanted to close one of the connections which is in roaming and the other to change the tariff plan. But the connection which was supposed to close was not yet closed and they are still charging me the monthly rental.

The other connection, I came to know that there is a plan in Tata Indicom in which Tataindicom to Tataindicom STD is only Rs.1 per 3 minutes. Then on April 8th I requested them to change the plan. They told me that the plan will be affective from the same month as my billing cycle starts from April 11th. But i didn't. I used the phone thinking it is only Rs.1 per 3 minutes. After a month I got a bill of 4600 in which it is charged R.3 per minute.

I have raised many complaints and no one has helped to sort this out and now they are asking me to pay the whole amount. The guy who told me that it will be affective from this month says 'I didn't say like that'.

Non receipt of Bills - Harassment
This is regarding my non-receipt of Bills from Tata Indicom. We have not received bills for at least 6 months form Tata Indicom. I have also given my email ID so that these people can send me a soft-copy. They have not bothered to do anything but simply say that the bill is dispatched.

Is it not the duty of the company to trace out why the bill has not reached? I have filed at least 10 to 15 complaints. Everytime I had to repeat my address, e mail etc... Is this the service offered by Tata...

What is the customer care department doing???

Harassment of customer
As i am a existing customer of your esteemed company TATA indicom (Mobile). My numbers is 9219667667. As today my mobile no outgoing and incoming calls had been banned.

As already i had deposited my previous bills before the due dates no dues had been pending...

No satisfactory answer from your customer service staff.

Substandard phone set
I am A Tata Indicom Subscriber and my phone number is 03365216182 one of the early subscribers. I had hoped for better service than BSNL or reliance and opted for tata Indicom . The set given to me was a LG LSP 345 which is a very substandard set and the battery had to changed for half a dozen times.Also the charge of the battery in a new state lasts for not more than 2 hours. I had repeatedly opted for a different set & make and offered any additional money for the same. But every time the customer care had declined the offer saying that the same is not possible. The last call i made was on the 21st of June 2007. A very sober customer care executive took my call and promised to look into the case and he said that he made an email detailing the matter.I was talking to him for about 7 & 1/2 minutes. On the 22nd a person representing Tata Indicom comes to change the battery once again and i inquired about changing the set once for all. He doesn't know a thing and advices to call up the customer care. Now i have to deal with a very arrogant customer care executive ( Prosenjit Das as mentioned by the person over the phone) who seems to know nothing. After a lot of requests he advices me to call up the Tata Indicom Hub which i am unaware of. I inquired for the location and the phone number. He declines to give the phone number saying that it is not possible for him as because it is not TATA Indicoms Policy to give the phone numbers. To inquire regarding changing the set one has to go personally and visit the hub.( I find it very strange that it was not possible to inquire over the phone. Also i am wondering what will happen to a physically challenged person) There was a lot of disgust in his way of talking and he claimed that i could easily surrender the phone. This is very unlikely for a TATA Branded customer care service. From my young days i have been hearing that TATA represents the best of Brands in India and I would always trust a TATA Product to any other brand than Reliance or Airtel. But i feel that there is a mistake on my part. I also think that TATA is loosing out more than I am.

Not available postpaid facility
I am a tataprepaid customer ( 09213452742) and I applied a post paid connection in my home town that is SPG complex, Dwarka, Sector-8, New Delhi. And I by hand paid Rs. 600 to this company executive the month of May. The office phone number of the executive is 011-64594294 and after paid of money office representative was come to my home and complete the verification process . But till date I have not received post paid facility or any concerned massage by theirs office. Telephonically I have try to speak with executive but they have not give me a satisfied answer.

Non receipt of refundable security money
1. This is regarding non receipt of refundable security money from TATA INDICOM since Jan 2007.

2. I had got disconnected my Tata Indicom No 040-55591691 for which Representative of Vijaya Vinayaka Associates had collected telephone set and rendered receipt No 9492247286 dated 18 Jan 2007.

3. It is very sad to mention that security money has not yet been paid to me.

4. I hope this complaint will make them to respond

Worst service ever!
We have taken new service POST PAID, An Executive of Name MR RAMAN (9212561366). Came and took 600 on date 7/june frm My husband. Now that man is not responding, not picking the call... and till date the no is not been activated.
They r just Making the public fool.

So TATA INDICOM GIVE THE WORST SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC!!!
