Hi, My name is Rajanikanth from Bangalore.
I bought this Tata Indicom Plug to Surf USB modem (9243472300) on 30th Jan, 2008 and the connection was activited by midnight but it would'nt work. The dialer was showing that it is connected but I was unable to browse any sites. Finally, Google opened up after nearly 10 minutes but after that I could not browse any other sites.

I called Cust service to get my problem resolved, A technician came home the next day (I really appreciate the service.) He checked the network parameters and said there is no network at my home. I have 3 Airtel Mobiles and 1 Vodafone Mobile at home, I have never faced a network problem as I live in a prime locality like Ulsoor, Bangalore. And I have a Desktop computer which cannot be moved from my home. He called the concerned people at Tata Indicom and gave the network details. After a couple of days I received a call from Tata Indicom, Chennai and a Tech support rep said network cannot be improved immediately near my house and could not give a time frame, he said it may take atlest 1 or 2 months and asked me to return the modem and the sim card. I called Cust service again and they asked me to take it to the dealer or to a Tata Indicom Hub. My dealer refused to take it back, Even at the Hub they said they cannot take it back and they can only disconnect the line and when I got angry he said someone would call me in a couple of days and tell me what needs to be done.

No one called for 4 days. I called the Cust service No. and spoke to a supervisor there who asked me to take it the head office at Koramangala, Bangalore. I took to the HO and spoke to the manager who offered to refer me to any customer who may need this modem and I could sell it as a second hand product to someone but she said that they cannot take it back coz it is a company policy.

I was very angry and just walked out. Since, I found this site I am trying to get rid the modem which I have never used and paid Rs.2850/- for nothing and also wasted a lot of time and money to get it to work or to get a refund. But to no avail, I have made a fool of myself.
