Dealer not giving coupons!
We bought a Tata Sky dish from Savi mobile point, shop no. 2, Balaji complex, Khatipura Mor, Jaipur. Mob. nos. 9351428786 & 9252258598. We paid Rs. 3990.00 and were issued a cash memo no.1324 on the bill pad of Savi photo studio. We were told that we would get Rs. 1000.00 worth of coupons. But now the dealer says there are no coupons. He gave us a call center phone no. of Delhi. When we call the call center they say the dealer is supposed to give us the coupon. They have ripped us off Rs. 1000.00.

We purchased the connection in January 2007. Our services were resumed in the month of February 2007. Initially we were very much excited having your connection. But soon our enthusiasm died away. Since the March the dish started giving problems. The programs relayed by Tata Sky Dish TV were hazy and unclear and the sound was bad and irritating, particularly when we connected CD / DVD player. All of a sudden the programs will disappear with a torturing sound.. We inquired in our locality and found out that every Tata Sky Dish TV owner faced this problem.

Upon complaining on your call centre they said they do have a technical problem in our Four Bungalow area which will be resolved soon During this period many mails were sent to Tata Sky Dish TV Bangalore office, but no one responded. . It took almost 60 days for the problems to resolve. Things were OK for about 15 days and the problem started again.

Again the same exercise was repeated and again no response was received. Every time we made a call to your call center a very polite assurance came that the service engineer is on his way. But nobody came and resolved the problem. Finally after many calls the service engineer came and detected some problem and promised to set it right within 2 days which never happened. He fixed the Digicomp adopter in such a way that our TV was damaged and we got our TV repaired by spending Rs 4,800/-.

Even as on today, our Dish TV system does not work and our torture is on. Nobody responds to our complaints. Since the day of purchase our system did not function regularly even for a period of 15 days. It is a torture and not an entertainment.

I am putting this note for general viewer so that they are saved of the torture of facing non existent Tata Sky Dish TV service.

Horrible product!
BE WARNED! Install Tata Sky at your own peril. I have read each and every complaint against and I TOTALLY agree with all the poor suckers who are suffering just like me. Their promotional ads are a total are a total Bull Shit. There is absolutely no Jinga La La at all except hair splitting agony. They promise you a lot and once they have suckered you into buying a Rs.3000 digicom they start discontinuing channels one by one (they say they have a right to as per their terms and conditions).

They even have the gaul to say that they have added new channels like the Kashmiri entertainment channel/Nepali channel which they say are more in demand than discontinued channels like Zee sports, Neo sports, Zee premiere and Zee classic.

They do not have a policy of offering refund and you are stuck with the digicom which is otherwise a useless piece of junk.

They claim they are part of Star and a new channel like Star cricket is not broadcast by them. Their shitty call center employees say "channels are selected on basis of priority" and cricket in india is not a priority according to them.

Last but not least be warned that the digicoms are of very inferior quality. you have to go through a process of discontinuing all the cable and plugging them back on every time there is a malfunction, which is often.

Fraudulent charges!
I have bought new connection from Tata Sky dealer from Paras Enterprises Chandigarh dated 15th June'07, dealer has charged Rs 3800 from me and said that it includes installation charges also and it is free for three months after three months I have to take recharge coupon according to any plan. After installation my connection got disconnect after seven days and was asked to deposit another Rs 1000 for installation charges . When I told them that it is already paid by me. They are now making false statement that they have given me coupon of Rs 1000 however it is not given to me neither I was guided for the same thing. I have complaint the same thing to Tata Sky Customer care on dated 01.07.07 , despite of repeated calls to them I am unable to get any solution.

Poor service!
As mentioned in the earlier complaints TATASKY is very lethargic in including channels. Since they are very strict in disconnecting the service if the period is over, then they need to show the same kind of urgency in providing the channels also. I believe that they are cheating all the public in terms of giving commitment.

The worst part is that the inability shown by them to add even the free channel to the package like Raj TV, SS music.

Poor service!
TATA SKY has a brand name and thats the reason why so many people have been mislead into buying it. I think it is the biggest trap to fall into. Due to the thundershowers and rain the tata sky box had stopped functioning and till today 1.e the 3rd day no one has come to see it nor have i received any call. The call center is in utter chaos and different timings regarding the technician's visit was given to me when inquired. This shows how poor their customer service is other than missing programs the TV has also got affected. I want to know who is going to take responsibility for all this.

Faults & problems
After a lot of Salesmanship & persuasions from your Marketing guys, I finally decided to invest in 3 Tata Sky Connections. That time your staff told me that my life would change after that. We then bought the 3 Connections & our Lives turned to WORSE after that due to several Faults & Problems in your systems.

First of all let me tell you what I was PROMISED:

1) World Class Sat TV Service
2) 24 Hrs Help Available
3) My Life will become Jhinga Lala
4) All my Cable TV Problems (3Connections) be over.
5) 24 Hrs Clear Digital Reception- NO DISRUPTION, Guaranteed.

We were quite impressed with the Promises & we disconnected our 3 Cable Connections & invested in 3 Tata Sky Connections. But alas from the very

Second Day The TRAUMA & TENSIONS started as Follows:

1) The Installer did not fix the Dish/Antenna on our Roof Properly, so the Pictures started distorting. We called your Help Line, but they could not sort the Problem on Phone, so we had to wait till next day for your mechanic to come & rectify the fault. So 24 Hours without Tata Sky.

2) Whenever there is a Medium breeze blowing or even a slight drizzle or the start of Rain, all the Channels start getting distorted. Again we call up your help line several times for this peculiar problem, but they could not help. They kept on telling us to check the Signal Strength, take out the Digi Card & put it back again after switching off the TV for a few minutes, etc. Oooofh! What a waste of Time & Energy! Two of your Executives even accepted that this Problem is there in Tata Sky that whenever the Rain Starts or a strong Breeze starts, the TV Pictures get distorted. Shocking isn't it?

3) The WORST is yet to come. Continuously All thru 24 Hours some kind of Coded Labels/Stickers keep appearing on the Screen of all our TV's. Some of the Labels are: 00063130, 000CC966, 18604256633, 000.508.5179-9, 01500191715, etc.

These Labels/Stickers keep appearing at all crucial places on the Screen, sometimes blocking an important part of the Screen. Eg: (a) A question is asked by the Quiz Master and as soon as the answer appears on the screen, the Label blocks a part of the answer for No Rhyme or Reason. (b) A beautiful Lady/actress is dancing in one of the Channel programmes, suddenly one of the Labels appear on her face or Chest, spoiling the scene for the Viewers. It's really disgusting at Times, when you are watching Intensely. On Calling up your Help line they showed their inability to rectify this, as it was Signal Testing/Piracy test going on & it comes from Chennai. Sir, why so many different kinds of Labels, so many times- virtually thru the day & night to Test your Signals etc? And why are these Labels coming in or around the Centre of the Screen?? If you want to check your signal or piracy etc-then do it on the 4 corners of the Screen & not in the Centre areas PLEASE.

4) My old Mother aged about 80 years is so much fed up with these problems that she has removed the Sky TV cable & restored her old Cable TV connection. She could not cope up with your so-called Modern Technology hazards creating Depression & Anxiety faced during Prime Time Viewing. She has asked me to convey to you that you should inform your Customers of these Shortcomings before they take your Connections -IF ONE WANTS TATA SKY CONNECTION THEN HE SHOULD NOT ALLOW RAIN OR STRONG BREEZE TO COME NEAR HIS/HER HOUSE, HE SHOULD BE READY TO WAIT FOR 24 HOURS TILL HELP COMES TO RECTIFY THE DEFECTS, HE SHOULD ENJOY THE DIFFERENT LABELS & STICKERS APPEARING ON THE TV SCREEN AS A PART OF ENTERTAINMENT, HE SHOULD NOT DESERVE HIS FAVOURITE CHANNELS LIKE SAHARA SAMAY, ZOOM ETC. HE SHOULD ALSO HAVE A CABLE CONNECTION AS STAND BY EVERY TIME THE TATA SKY GIVES PROBLEMS & FINALLY, TATA SKY IS MEANT ONLY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE NOT OLDIES.

5) Though promised but you have yet not installed favorite Channels like- Zoom, Sahara Samay, CTVN, Taaza TV, etc which are very popular in this part of the Country-maybe not in Chennai. We are still waiting in the Sea of HOPE as promised by your Executives & agents.

6) Even Yesterday your Signals went off Three Times during the Day including at 12 Noon & 3 pm and restored after app 10-20 mts each time. In fact we rushed to our Mothers TV as she was watching her Cable connection, which was clear.

I am a heart patient suffering from severe cervical Spondilitis & I am really fed up on these Shortcomings of yours. So I approach you to take Immediate Action as follows:

A) Please Stop displaying your Signal Stickers/Labels anywhere on the Screen, except on the Corners.
B) Rectify the fault of Distortions due to Rain/ Strong Breeze problems.
C) Include the Favorite Channels like ZOOM, Sahara Samay, CTVN, Taaza TV etc. Failing which please disconnect my Tata Sky Connections & Refund me the Entire Money.

I had Full faith in all Tata Companies as I myself worked with them for 15 Long years, but today I am loosing Faith & Confidence in this new Venture – Tata Sky. I am sure Mr. Rattan Tata is not aware of these Shortcomings otherwise he would not have tolerated these Nuisances. There are many others who are facing these problems but they choose not to complain now, but they will surely do it later when they get fed up and then you will face the problem of eroding your Customer Base. You have a tough competition & you must provide Best of Services to retain your Market Share. Please do Respond with Corrective Action taken as I am interested in YOUR Prosperity & Image, being an ex TATA Employee. Some of the Complaint Nos are: 1-471408632.27/5, 402073875, 1-445234917 etc. Surprisingly These Complaint Nos do not follow any Pattern & are not systematic. I AM IN COMPLETE TENSION AS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO THEM HAVE BROUGHT NO RELIEF NOR EVEN A REPLY... Deepak Bahl

No available channels!
Being the Customers of the new Tata Sky we were very proud. While there is no complaint against video and audio quality of tatasky, we still have something serious to complain about Tata Sky.

At the time of the connection they have promised to provide all Star channels as well as Zee Channels. We have been subscribing to Jumbo Super Saver Pack of Rs. 300 per month in which we are entitled to get all channels.

But unfortunately now they have disconnected several zee channels including regional channels of zee. Even Neo Sports has also been removed. Please note that Neo Sports is the official Broadcasting TV Channels for telecasting Cricket Matches of BCCI.

But surprising to note is that all these channels including star channels are available in Dish TV and that's for a cheaper price. So this will be a serious discrimination against viewers like us by the TATA SKY.

If zee TV can remove its channels from tata sky, then why can't star remove its channels from dish tv. See the thing is we want to get all the channels in our Tata sky. Because at the time of offering the connection they have offered us that they will be giving all the star channels as well as zee channels. Anyway now they may tell us to give written proof for that :(

So whatever the problem they should clear that problem and it is their duty to provide all channels.

2. Being the Kannada speakers; generally we would like to watch Kannada regional channels. But unfortunately only two Kannada channels are available for us. Now even Zee Kannada has been removed. They can't even provide TV9 Kannada News channel which is free. Further they are also not providing free channels like sahara manoranjan, sahara news (Hindi and English) Maharishi Veda Vision, Jain TV etc.

Disconnection of channels
Tata Sky has reduced the no. of channels provided during the time of installation. Specially Zee Classics. Etc, Z premier and other entertainment channels. As a customer it is our right to reduce the monthly subscription if all channels provided at the time of time of installation are not given.
