illegal nsf charges 5 on one day & I was not overdrawn
recently opened a checking account because of the promotional
"free" $100 ---- made deposits, etc. and used debit card to fulfill 6 of the 10 transactions needed to qualify for the $100. According to my records and the online account I was fine and my balance was never negative. According to the bank site at Cub Foods, they "POST" the
transactions whenever they feel like it and they claim I was overdrawn and proceeded to charge me 5 nsf charges of $35 in one day. I fought with them and showed them proof. I then asked why the card would not have been declined that day. They said I opted in for not having the card declined -- I did not. Why would I do that knowing I'd get an overdraft? Also Cub Foods did reject when I had $.45 instead of $4.92 but they still say I opted in and blah -blah - blah. My acct. should have $2.00 and they say it is NEGATIVE -$171.00.

Overdrafts
TCF received 80 million dollars last year in overdraft fee charges. I have had this account for many years and was happy with TCF until I got divorced. Since my income has shrunk considerably I teeter on the edge from month to month trying to make ends meet. Despite meager earnings, I own a home and car. I pay bills online according to monthly direct deposits. Every once and awhile, TCF deems it necessary to pay bills early, when I do not have funds available, which in turn causes a domino effect of overdraft charges. If you catch this happening, one previously was allowed to print the statement online, so you could prove what deposit and purchases where done at the exact time, which is no longer possible. If you watch your bank statement, they move and change the withdrawals around like a bag of bingo chips. This of course benefits them and YOU, will have no proof of their scam. I suppose I could take pictures of the online game of jumble, but would have to do so daily and then some!

Tellers claim, they can pay bills when they need to and not on the days requested. If you receive some credit back from them, you can not receive more credit within a 6 month time period. Hence. I was charged over 300$ in one weeks time. Bills were paid early, by them, purchases by me where not covered from 4 days previous to this event and they somehow THINK this is good customer service. Are you kidding me? This is illegal and unethical. TCF is in the process of being sued and I look forward to the outcome.

My advice...do NOT get an account with TCF and tell all of your friends as well. I have lost a lot of money from a bank I once trusted, who I thought was a bank of integrity. This is no longer the case.

liars
I just had an issue on my business account having to do with excessive over drafts. The same issue in which Twin City Federal is currently being sued for in a class action lawsuit. When I asked the banker (Ryan Tucker) (assistant manager) about it he blatantly lied and said it was a competitor who was being sued. TCF cannot be trusted and frequently engage in dishonest and corrupt business practices! I am moving my accounts to another bank. I am sticking to a smaller local bank where I am still considered a person with individual banking needs.

You name it
Well in the last 2 weeks I have been charged over $400.00 in NSF's fees. My paycheck which is electronically deposited showed one day and the next day it disappeared from my account. Then the day after it showed up and stayed. I went to the bank because of course you cannot call the bank itself because they do not allow that hmm! They say for security reasons. Wow I have a account with Chase also and I can call any branch anytime I like. Is that weird or what. Well I went to a branch and talked to the assistant manager and tried to find out what happened to my account. Well she was litearly clueless and was unable to tell me what happened to my deposit. And also after depositing cash why it was not made available imediately to pay bills. She also was very rude and smurking at times. I have a family member that opened up a account there when she came into a substancial amount of money. After I talked to her about what happened to me she went to TCF to withdraw all her money and close her accounts(checking&savings). And she also has two other bank accounts at Chase and Bank of America. And I am going to talk to as many people I know at work and friends to tell them to close there accounts because I do not want them to go through what I went through. And I am filing a complaint with the FTC. Please anyone that has had these problems like I have file a complaint with them. Because this will keep on happening to other people that work very hard for there money.

Bad Account Transaction
My Problem with T.C.F. Bank is that whenever I put in my account
Information to either reorder checks or go online to open up an online
Account and then make purchases, they won't let me process my own
Information. I put in my account number and it always comes out
Invalid. It's like they are trying to keep me from making certain purchases, after all it is my account. Why shouldn't I do what I want
With my money, I only took out $60, $50, and $60 for Gas money
And to treat my family to something to eat, get a new cellphone,
Flash Drive and Music Cd. But now they are only leaving me with
$10 and I only started out with $181.00 in my bank account and
I should be able to take at least $45 out and now I'm down to $10?!
They are really clowning, playing me for a fool. I'm so fed up with
T.C.F. Bank that I'm thinking of closing my account and taking my
Hard earn money from school back out to spend common sense.

Ripping of America
Totally free checking? How about ripping off America with bogus fees. Recently we paid TCF over 400 dollars in over draft fees. When you call the tele-bank number it gives you, your balance including any "Pending" charges...however the telephone system and the in bank system are different. We had 14o dollars in the account one day...took out 100 at an ATM. We were over drawn 40 dollars the next day and put the money in to cover it right away. The day following that we called the telephone system to verify how much was in there and were told we were over drawn 175 dollars. So we marched right on up to the bank for an explanation. When they printed out what the system had they showed us that at the time we had taken the 100 dollars out we didnt actually have that money in there because of other charges coming through. When we told them we checked our account every day by calling the telebanking number they told us it was not truly acurate. So i asked the teller "You mean to tell me i would have to come in here to the bank every day to get my acutal account balance?" and she told me "Technically yes." When we covered the over draft of 40 dollars i was given a reciept that said our balance was a positive 4 dollars. She told me well the teller at that time should have told us that we had over draft fees that were going to post the next day...I argued with her for about 45 min. Finally i said ok how much do i need to cover the amount i am over. She told me well you have two more coming through today (which werent on the print out we had been arguing over for the last 45 min) So i paid a total of 260.00 in OVER DRAFT FEE's

This brings me to today where i have had 7 dollars in my account becuase i dont use this account now because i cant afford the fees. I called it tonight and was told I was over by 7 dollars. So i immediatly got on the phone thinking that someone had been using my account. I was told...get this...that TCF holds all the ATM fees from the month and posts them all at the end of the month...oh but we wont be charged an over draft fee for that...NOT to mention there is a charge posting for 3.00 which is the monthly online banking fee...which i have never been able to use beause when i signed up it gave me an error that i couldnt access my account. Between the terribly RUDE customer service and the HIDDEN FEES...this bank is taking advantage of people and it should be brought to someone's attention.

Standing in the lobby at the bank they have no problem spending money on fancy flat screen TV's with nasty employees that obviously hate their job because they know they are working for the worst company ever. TCF even had a college stadium here in Minnesota...which they were able to pay for by screwing millions out of FEES they collect from us.

Would i ever recomend this bank to anyone??? Never in a million years. They give you 50 to open a checking account with them...only to steal it back from you and then some in the end!!!

I my self have banked with a home town bank for about 10 years and have never heard of the bull crap that has been pulled on us in the last few weeks.

Dont bother asking for a manager...because the Tellers them selves are all supervisors and you can get a business card to contact the manager when she is back in...BUT SHE DOESN"T HAVE A VOICE MAIL>>>WEIRD!!

Bank Fees
TCF hold your funds for purchases made, but never uses the funds to pay your transactions. They hold all your purchases for days then post them by the highest one first causing many fees and bounced checks. If they process them when you made the purchase this would not happen.
