LOSS OF DEPOSIT
This is the second time TD Bank has lost a deposit of mine in less than 3 months! The first was a cash deposit handed to a teller. I later checked my account online and I was not reflected. I called the bank they claimed they had no record of it, so I marched right in there with my receipt and it took them 3 days to credit my account.
The second incident was a large deposit at an ATM, I kept my receipt and it was reflected at least for that day as a deposit. I later checked and somehow it is now listed as a DEBIT! I am now on my way over to the branch with my receipt to complain. They have never apologized to me for these serious oversights and I intend to file a criminal report. This goes beyond incompetence!

BAD CHECK - CHECK FRAUD
http://start.cortera.com/company/research/k8q4owp0l/pazz-productions-llc/
I had an item listed on craigslist.org for $20 and got a check from Pazz Productions, LLC for $2, 900.00 and received a BAD AND FAKE CHECK. The bank they deal with is TD Bank North as stated above. TD Bank North is who this complaint is against. Whomever the "buyer" was had the check mailed from Austin Texas! The check was see through, really thin, the corners started to separate and the memo on the check says "pay if less than 5000". This check was addressed to me personally. From what I've read, TD Bank North is a Canadian Corporation. Before the check arrived at my house yesterday, USPS.com said it was coming from CA so I was assuming California. Maybe it meant Canada? I'm not sure. Anyways, No payment was accepted since the check was TOTALLY FAKE! WHY WOULD SOMEONE WRITE AND MAIL A "COMPANY CHECK" unlike the buyer said he was mailing a "CASHIER'S CHECK", for $2, 900.00 when my listing WAS ONLY $20??!! NOW THE BUYER WANTS ME TO "WIRE HIM THE DIFFERENCE IN CURRENCY OR WIRE HIM HIS "CHANGE" BACK?!" WHY???!!!

Excessive Charges
I made the mistake of choosing a "Simply Free Checking" account. I must have missed the letter in the mail about the change. Since the change that they decided to make I am charged $15.00 per month. According to bank staff it's my fault for not taking time out of my busy day to change to another account. To top it off I was issued $ 140.00 in charges due to an electronic deposit being processed days after it cleared the other account. Avoid this bank. They will make middle class America poor if we are not careful. I'm going through the hassle now of changing to a Credit Union. Do yourself a favor & choose a Credit Union. Please tell your friends also so that we can protect people during this recession.

Bank fees and minimum deposits
TDBank North switched free checking accounts to "convenience" checking accounts in April or May. Did you get the letter? It said, among other things, that there is now a requirement to keep $100 minimum balance or face a $15 fee. Well, today, the bank imposed the fee. And drew my account down below $100 by a little. That will create a second fee in July.

I voted with my feet and closed the account. But here's the question. If TD Bank North has say 100, 000 customers in MA or whatever and requires each of them to take $100 off the table are they not taking missions out of the economy at the worst possible moment? That just doesn't seem right.
