Customer Service/Wait Time
WORLDS MOST CONVENIENT BANK???!!! Voted by WHOM? Board of Directors??? Certainly NOT the customers. The only thing convenient about TD Bank and the former Commerce Bank is the fact that they are open on Sunday. Waiting time on their convenient drive up windows is OUTRAGEOUS! Always have a problem there but today was the last straw! Pulled up on one of the 5 or 6 drive ups and had 3 cars in front of me at 5:55 to transfer funds from my 16 year olds savings account to our joint checking in order to split cost of a new computer with him. Sound simple? Noooooo. After waiting on line for 29 minutes...29 MINUTES I was told I was not custodian of his account because it was my husband that went with him to open it in the first place. I had the 16 year old with me and they would not let us take $400 from his account and put into the family account. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Going on simultaneously (sp) was some poor guy who just wanted to deposit his paycheck and take a little out BUT he could not because he did not have enough in HIS account to cover the paycheck! What the %$#@*&^%??? ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SATISFACTION. I AM DONE!!! Closed my personal little account a year ago for poor service and now I am closing both of our son's savings and our family account. Did I mention HOW many times I received the wrong amount of cash back when depositing/cashing a check and one time even had to do the math on a piece of paper for the stupid teller so she could understand? THAT was in Brick. Never bank with them and and NOT COUNT YOUR MONEY!!! RUDE NASTY SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW AND REALLLYYYYY DOWNRIGHT FREAKIN IGNORANT! BANKING CUSTOMERS...BEWARE!!! CONVENIENT BANK??? Your so funny!

online bill pay
I've paid monthly bills from my TD Bank business account using Microsoft Money. Three payments never posted and I have incurred late fees, finance charges, etc. Customer servive is a joke. I waited an hour to speak with someone and they couldn't fix the problem which persists to this day. I was told someone would call me back. That was a week ago. Still waiting...
I'm taking my business elsewhere. TD Bank truly sucks!

The worst bank on the planet
After dealing with so many issues from this bank since their so called upgrade. I'm now looking to close my account and switch everthing over to a new bank. The last straw was an arbitrary $350.00 debit from my account dating 9/29. They did not inform me and I don't even know what this is in reference to. I had thought that this was finally over as I had to go to the local branch several times because as my bills came through they had applied ACH stop payments on my mortgage, car and several credit card payments. They couldn't explain what happened but looking at my checking account this morning I found a debit for $350.00 only saying credit clear debit. This bank is horrible and I'm soooo tired of trying to understand what's going on and correcting these issues... I miss Commerce!!!

Overdraft Fee's
I am unemployed and have been for 8 months. I woke up Wed Oct 21st and viewed my checking account on line which showed I had $319 in my account. My unemployment check was deposited that morning. When I viewed my account at 4PM in the afternoon my account was in arrears showing a negative balance of $47. TD Bank hit me with 3 $35 overdraft fee's totaling $105. I called them to have it remved and they refused. I spoke to the manager and he refused. I explained that I was unemployed and I could not feed my family and they kept asserting that it was my fault. TD Bank has just lost another customer.

America's most in-convenient bank
I spoke with the assistant manager at my branch and she told me that they changed to a system where:

1.) The online system shows you REAL TIME balance only on point of sale purchases and outstanding authorizations.

2.) The balance Does Not reflect any checks or ACH Debits that posted to the account. These checks and ACH debits get removed from your account that morning but dont officially POST until the next day.

As a result any charges you put through on the VISA debit card that day will probably cause the account to decrease in balance and possibly go negative. You will get charged $35 for EACH VISA charge that makes your account go negative. Even for a $10 VISA purchase youll get charged $35 overdraft fee.

What the hell do we have online banking for if it's not correct and up to the minute?

This is the same problem I had with Bank of America and Im switching banks because of it.

Seems to me like these banks are all shit now and want to squeeze every last dollar out of their customer in such a nasty way. They set you up with an online system thats NOT accurate and let you put charges through on the debit card, and then bang you over the head on fees the next day.

Im surprised theres no law against it.

Incorrect posting of cash deposit
Deposited $2, 300 in cash on Monday Oct 12 and the bank logs it in as $23 even though deposit receipt said $2, 300. This caused my rent check to bounce and a credit card online payment as well.

Second time this has happened this year. Isn't a cash deposit supposed to be immediately available?

Checking Account
TD Bank is the absolute worse bank around. They talk about their customer service, yet they have terrible customer service. They incorrectly charged me $210 in overdraft fees even though I had funds in my account to cover my transactions. I called, asking what in the world the $210 was for and that is when I was told it was for overdraft protection. I was so upset and did not understand why they were charging me for overdraft protection when I had the funds in my account to cover my transactions. The told me it was an error, and that I had automatically been signed up for overdraft since I used to be a Commerce customer. That did not make any sense because I didn't have overdraft protection for Commerce either. They reversed the $210 charge. The next day, I had another charge for $105. Apparently, when they took out the $210 there were other transactions that were pending which could not be paid because of their $210 mistake. So even though my account should have been in the positive, it was in the negative and they had the nerve to charge me $105 overdraft charge. I called and explained the situation, they even looked in the notes but refused to reverse the $105 charge. If they had not mistakenly charged me the $210, I would have had enough to cover the remaining transactions. This bank is terrible. I am cancelling my account immediately.

New Fees
I was a loyal Commerce Bank customer for over 12 years. I would tell everyone I knew that they were the best bank ever. When I moved to South Carolina I refused to change to another bank because Commerce was so much better that anyone else. Well I not know that Commerce Bank is DEAD and TD Bank is the Vampire that has taken over the once beautiful body.

First lets start with the transition on the website at the end of September. The F-UP that would never end. I love not being able to transfer funds between accounts, or have an idea of what my balance is because I can check online or connect via quicken for a week.

Then due to a problem with their processing they did not process a deposit until the next day. Charging me 210 dollars in fees. I called my local branch that refunded them promptly, since this was a Commerce Branch before the merger the people there are still interested in customer service. I thought it was a system problem and let it go.

Then to day to wake to 140 dollars in fees for overages. This is a secondary account for my Boyfriend to spend his budgeted money out of and I transfer funds into as needed. I never had a negative balance but the available balance went below zero. I transfered funds from my other account to cover what was out standing.

They tell me a the 1800 number (once you wait 20 mins to get someone) that they have a new FEATURE that allows you to spend more that what is availible and for that FEATURE they charge you $35.00.

Lets be clear! They are charging me because I might go over drawn. As you can see below the my account was never negative until they charged me the $140.00. If you want over draph protection they charge you a $5.00 transfer fee.

This feature is optional but they added to everyone's account! Not as an Opt-in but as an OPT OUT once you call and bitch.

Well I will be Opting OUT of TDBank.

RIP Commence Bank - I miss you

Giving out personal information
Today I walked into TDBankNorthm thinking that my transaction would be smooth, secure and simple. All I wanted was a new debit card. I sat in the customer service area hearing one of the CS Reps talk about a high profile client on the phone and how TD needs to protect them... I wondered if they felt every customer was "high profile." I don't think so.

I sat down and asked the CS Rep if I could have a new ATM/Debit card. He looked at me strange when I wanted to write down my SS# instead of say it aloud, after he reassured me I told him that I still wanted to write it down on paper. The paper pulled out of the drawer was half of another customers account number and information. I thought that these things were immediately shredded. He screwed up the numbers and asked for my number AGAIN! He gave me the other half of this individuals deposit info ...so I could see ALL of this persons account information making it whole for me to steal his identity. I'm upset that this person's info was so vulnerable because it could have easily been my info as well.

My new debit card felt cheap, there was no raised numbers and letters making it feel like a valid card. It felt strange... I asked him about it and as if I should have known "Yes, these are the new cards as of Sept 20something, for more protection" C'mon TD protection from what, ... seems like you're cutting corners and being CHEAP! and ripping off your customers at the same time with FEES, in addition to leaving vulnerable info open for theft.

I need to take my money out soon. What a big inconvenience.

The rep tells me "Good Luck" when I left. Good luck with what? What unintelligent service.

IS The Deceptive Bank!
TD Bank should ditch their fancy little black and green vests for some nice plaid suits. They are as swarmy as a used car dealer trying to sell you a junker.

I was told yesterday, by TWO TD BANK EMPLOYEES, one a rep and the other her supervisor, that you cannot trust their available balance that is displayed in the online banking and the available balance on the ATM. These numbers don't reflect your actual available balance. However, only employees have access to the real available balance on their computer. I was told to keep a register, and after I told them I did, and I did it in real time, they said I did wrong. Why even have online banking or available balances at ATM's if they don't match what TD Bank is really debiting and crediting to your account?? Online banking is USELESS if it's not reliable. Going to an ATM and finding out your available balance is useless now as well. These available balances NEVER match how TD Bank is handling your account in the back room.

They apparently put debits and credits in order by their own warped standards, which is they back date items and hold onto deposits so that you overdraft...but they never show you that online...The only thing you see after having a balance above zero the entire time is a whopping overdraft fee. Seriously...would I buy $1.50 cup of coffee if I knew I was under and would be charged an overdraft fee of $35.00? Of course not - I go by what they tell me is my available balance...Especially when I have ZERO in pending purchases!

Yesterday, my account balance, while low because of mortgage and car payments, was still in the black. All pending purchases had gone through, and never once while we were checking their online banking (and balancing our books) did we ever go in the red. We even went by their rules, counting only $100 of our recently deposited money. Always in the black...Well, then they go and take all the tiny purchases, move those to the last purchases debited (even if they weren't) and then waited to the end of the business day to credit us with our money (last item of the day). So according to their system, we overdrafted, since the money wasn't there to the end of the day. Of course, I deposited this money 5 days before they actually credited us with it.

The employees, while not ultimately their fault, tell the company line, and don't seem to have compassion. They agree the account balances are wrong, and then blame you for looking at the balance! How dare I trust what TD Bank tells me is my available balance! That's just silly, isn't it?

TD Bank is losing us as customers. They have lost many of my friends. Apparently they feel that being open 7 days a week with long hours and an annoying penny arcade is good enough. I stayed with them for this long just because they have so many banks around my area. But, I've learned my lesson. I'm going to my local community bank and putting my hard earned money into my community and into a bank that has earned the trust of many friends and family members.

What is a better trait for a bank to have: Convenience or Trust? TD bank chose their road, and I'll take the other.
