Out the money October 4, 2009
computer problems
No only did I have to wait days to get my direct deposit posted but the bank sent an amount equal to my mortgage payment to PECO putting my account in the red. Then they charged me overdraft.

I didn't see the 2nd payment on-line and after going to the bank discovered the customer service people couldn't see it either but after they called the IT division, waiting on hold for 45 minutes on their internal line (not the general public line, the IT people uncovered the 2nd payment. Of course, this is not their problem...I must have done it but I did it at 2 different times (they kept changing the time I did it) so I was out of luck. The customer service people in the branch were great and they were just as frustrated as I was. Finally, after insisting the IT person get a supervisor (He initially said there were no supervisors on duty but after I questioned the intelligence of not having a supervisor on duty after they screwed up everyones accounts he admitted there were 2 but he couldn't find one.). The mysterious supervisor finally got on the line and after 20 minutes of discussion she finally agreed to request a repayment from PECO but said she would be off 3 days next week so wait a week to call back and get information on the status of the request. Again...bank snaffu and a supervisor gets 3 days off. Not at my job. I would be there camped out on a cot until the problem was fixed or I would be out of a job. I asked for some sort of confirmation that the request would be made...no mechinism exists to notify me that a bank request has been made (no e-mail, no note on my account...nothing). Just call back and check with the on-line customer service again.

Now since they use an outside vender (didn't know that), they can't get the money back. I have to go to PECO and request a refund to because even if they send a request...PECO may not and does not have to respond to the request. Isn't that going to be fun. Talking to PECO is like talking to a telephone pole and now like talking to a TD North person.

I now have to transfer funds to TD North to make up for the over $1000 mistake to keep from adding additional bank charges and wait.

Monday I'm opening a new account in another bank.

Being an employee at TD Bank
Currently I work at the newly labeled 'TD Bank'. I was a customer of Banknorth for years before I began working as a part time employee there just several months ago. This employment is a result of being laid off from my previous job and trying to find work in an unforgiving economy.

I've spent the last week getting yelled at because of the bank's computer issues. It is most certainly understadable that customers are angry and outraged by this occurrence, however, it is far worse to be the employee getting yelled at when this customer has no idea that my money is also tied up in the same very bank. I am at work frustrated myself, working for a company that I have little faith in as of late. What choice do I have but to go to work? I look for alternative employment every single day before and after work.

It is not easy to work for TD Bank. It is not easy to break people's hearts and ruin their entire day by telling these people that go to work every day to try to keep their heads above water that their account is now overdrawn because they couldn't keep the 'minimum balance' in their account. These are certainly not enjoyable moments at work, but I have to go to work too.

I just wanted to say that, we are not all careless unsympathetic employees and that is not an easy job.

Unavailable Funds
What kind of bank has a contact phone number that even in an emergency such as their "computer glitch" has no message other than we can't help you at this time. Direct deposits are not recorded, yet they have no trouble paying your money out during this so called "glitch". I certainly have not encountered the service with them that I had when this was Commerce Bank in New Jersey. This will be the last 'glitch' I experience as a TD customer - I intend to start shopping for new banking services tomorrow!

Computr Glitch
Has anyone else been receiving overdraft fees? BTW I signed up with Wachovia online, and I WILL DEFINITELY BE CLOSING my TD account once I make sure these fees are properly taken care of!

Customer Service/Mismanagement of Money
TD Bank is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with. My ordeal started with them cashing a forged check out of my account and 3 .5 weeks later is still an issue. They do not care about the client or about finding solutions. I am all about compromise and understand that things may happen but I expect a professional response and I expect to see a resolution to the problem. TD Bank has proven that not only are they unprofessional and disrespectful to their clients, they simply do not care.

Their systems have been down for days with deposits but they have no problem cashing, returning checks.

Once my account is straightened out I will leave them and let everyone I know that they should not bank with TD.

Huge New Fees
Monday TD Bank changed their policies regarding debit over drafts. Commerce had a policy where debit card over drafts were not subject to fees. Starting this week, any debit card over drafts will result in a 70.00 fee! Can you imagine, being overdrawn by 1 dollar and being charged 70.00? Unreal. I was charged and credited due to the SNAFU with their computers. I am looking for a new bank. I went to the local branch and they said tough luck in the future.

HORRIBLE!
I have been with Commerce Bank since they opened, great bank until they day they merged with TD. They assured the customers it would be the same bank that garnished Commerce all of the influx of customers, WELL it isn't! Regis should have stayed sitting onthe couch b/c this bank SUCKS! CRS that don't know what they are talking about, Fees all of the sudden when the reason we banked with Commerce was because it was Hassel Free, Fee Free and Convenient, Credit Cards that have a ridiculous APR even if you don't carry a balance they are charging 14%...SHALL I CONTINUE!

I was supposed to have my paycheck direct deposited in my account on 9/29, well it is 10/1 and still no deposit! I have debits coming good today for bills and the money will not be there to cover b/c no one seems to know where my money is. Oh yeah and I can't call and inquire, or complain or anythng b/c all of the phone numbers don't work right now. They obviously are hiding in a hole becasue this TRANSITION is a bust. They are going to owe all kinds of customers money...if they ever get their friggin act together. As soon as this is all settled and I can find my money...I am taking it out of TD bank and keeping where it is safe...in my mattress! Oh and I am calling the Better Business Bureau to make a formal complaint...I suggest everyone else does the same!

Direct Deposit, Terms Change
Yeah, TD is having a problem with all Deposits. The best is, yes, you call them and can't get through cause everyone else is calling them too. When i did get through they, they stated it was only deposits. Well they are wrong it is debits too. Nothing from yesterday at 5p thru right now has came out of my account or gone in. They are also now changing their terms- Free checking accounts are no longer FREE. If your account falls below $100, they will charge a $15 fee. I don't have time to deal with stupid crap. I never had a problem when it was Comerce Bank. Since the switch over, i have had nothing but problems. Everything from fees they cannot explain being taken out of my account to horrid customer service to now my paycheck not showing. Granted they attempted to fix it by making my previous paycheck amt avail, but that amt is less than this one (i don't work overtime for nothing) and i'm sure it will all get screwed up in the end. I have no faith in this company. I am switching banks ASAP. Maybe WAMU will be more reliable.
