sucky bank
Worked in one of their call centers briefly. Rude, insensitive, condescending managers who treat workers like cattle/prisoners yet expect them to maintain perfect perky tones on the phone while barely making minimum wage. Thin training that doesn't give reps the tools they need to help customers efficiently and literally the slowest (and rudest) IT tech support I've ever seen (having worked for four Fortune 500 comapnies) that's managed hundreds of miles offsite. Their ATMs are stoneage compared to Bank of America, you can't deposit cash for immediate credit or checks that give you an image of the check on your receipt. Bottom line: Suckage.

Hidden Fees
I have had a TD Bank account since I was 18. Recently, I was trying to navigate their recently unveiled "new and improved" website and noticed some service fees. Three different $15 fees appeared on my account over the past two months. After calling customer service, I learned that they charged my account because the balance had "slipped" below $100. I told them that might type of checking did not have a minimum balance and they, in turn, informed me that according to a "green booklet" I should have received in May that they had recently instituted one. They told me that I could switch to another checking account that did not have a min. balance. I asked them why they turned my account into an account type that was nothing like my original when there was clearly one more similar. I also asked them if they were also going to start rewarding me with these service fees every time my account was over $1000 which it is most of the time. When I asked the brilliant CS rep what service was being carried out on m behalf, he told me that it was meant to make sure that customers always had a "cushion" and were given a "warning" when their account balance became too low. Ha! I told him it would be much more productive to send some sort of email alert and he let me know that they also have that service as well. After refunding $30 of the fees as a courtesy gesture, he told me to not be surprised if I saw another charge next month since my bank account was currently at $96.75. I told him that when the $30 refund was added I would be over $100. He said unfortunately all transactions had to be posted by 5 p.m. It was 5:15. This bank is desperate- switch to another immediately.

New Fees???? Switch Banks Now!
I opened my account in Philly about 3 1/2 years ago. While using TDbank in Maine(which was a major pain in the ass because their systems didn't link up) the branch manager told me that I am very lucky to have this account because I will be "grandfathered" in for the no atm fees forever. Well I guess now I was wrong! I was just charged my first $15 dollar maintenance fee for my balance dropping below $100.
I keep almost 99% of my money in an online bank that pays super high interest and charges no fees whatsoever(Ally.com)! This bank will even contact you if your balance drops below a certain amount...fathom that! A Bank that actually cares.
TdBank has is all wrong here(not to mention the new website design sucks)!!! They don't give a shit about their customers. During a recession they are taking money out of people's pockets...not to mention you don't earn any interest with the money that you do actually have!!! I would highly suggest looking into Ally Bank online. I have had a great experience with them. Their website is so easy to use. I plan on canceling my account as soon as I switch over my automatic payments.

Excessive Overdraft Fees
My husband and I opened 2 checking accounts with TD Bank a year and a 1/2 ago, right before they merged with Commerce Bank and at the time there wasn't a monthly maintenance fee or fees for using the ATM. Now, we have a fee every month and on top of that extremely excessive overdraft fees! I have been charged over $1, 000 in fees this summer because they balance they keep isn't accurate. On top of that they deduct transactions from highest to lowest, not in the order that they were done! Not only that but if you're overdrawn for 5 consecutive days you will be charged $35 and continue to be charged $35 every 5 days until a deposit is made! And this is the best one, I was charged a $35 overdraft fee for a $18 transaction from Netflix because when it was authorized I only had $11 in my account (it's automatic every month) and then when it came out of pending and it actually "posted" to my account I was charged $35 again! I called customer service and the rep said that they will mail me the "Schedule of Deposit Account Charges" for me to review.
This bank is ridiculous! With the economy the way it is how do they get away with charging these fees! There has to e something to do about it. I am closing my accounts with TD Bank today!

Customer Service
This bank has Customer Service from HELL. This company should invest in hiring someone that can train theses people to be professional Customer Service people. I called one day to get account information and the Rep Eric asked me for my address and I provided it he told me that my zip code was wrong and I told him I know what the zip is for my town and gave it to him again and he told me it was wrong so I told him to look it up and that I wasn't wrong. He said that he could not help and that I needed to go into the local branch I told him that I was not going into a branch and that I wanted to speak to a manager. As I waited for a manager my thought was how come he never asked me for a second security question? He then comes back on the phone ask me another question and we spoke about the account.
I have called previously and that experience was worst, It was about funds being transfered that I never processed and the Rep told me that maybe I accidently did it. If it was wasn't for the prompting in the being that this phone could be monitored I would have told her a few choice words.
I challenge anyone to act as though something is wrong with an account and to call customer service. Service SUCKS

Worst Customer Service
This bank is the most uncivilized bank in a civilized world. They are worst in customer service, they have been giving me a run around and fishing for reason to decline my loan. They have lied to me so many times about why it took them over 5 months to give me a reason why my loan is still in process and finally i receive a letter which says my loan has been declined, the worst part is that TD Bank employee did not even sign the letter before mailing it. They also lied about the credit reporting Agency that they use for checking your credit. I called the agency and found out that they never checked my credit and made a decision without any base. BIGGEST LIARS in the WORLD. A BANK THAT SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ANY SERVICES.
Very uncivilized employees working at TD Bank. Worst bank to go to for any kind of services.
PLease do not go to TD Bank for any HOME LOANS OR ANY KIND OF LOANS. All you will get is a run around and than finally you will recieve a letter stating your loan has been declined.
I still don't understand how can JD POWER AND ASSOCIATES call them Number #1 they should be given the worst bank award.

Coporate Thief & Awful Staff
I URGE everyone to pull all accounts from TD Bank if you like holding onto your money. I closed mine today, thanks to nearly $600 in ridiculous fees. Not only that, but all of a sudden, they've decided to get rid of their free checking accounts, which I had, and replace them all with accounts requiring a minimum balance, without any authorization from the account-holder. Luckily for TD (but not for anyone else), all these formerly "free" accounts were subsequently slapped with maintenance fees. I can't even imagine how much they made off us maligned customers from this sneaky account change.

customer service
i just love bank's customer services. first you wait for half an hour untill the girl finishes her private conversation on her cell and then u get this bitchy person to help you whos acting like its not her job. all i needed was some good explanation and this senior customer service representative was so rude. very impatient with me eventhough we spoke the same language. as i was asking her more questions she would get more and more frustrated with me and raising her voice. so who ever goes to that avenue U branch...good luck with this russian girl. i suggest u talk to the manager.
