Overdraft Fees!!
I am absolutely outraged!!! I recently deposited $150 into my TD Bank account using their ATM. I realized that my funds were a little low and I wanted to avoid getting charged their outrageous fees. Well, little did I know that they (for some odd reason that their representatives couldn't explain to me) sent that money back to me. I was never notified that my deposit did not go through. I have never had that happen to me before so I didn't check up on it the way that I normally do (I keep a close eye on my account). Well, of course I ended up getting a whopping $175 overdraft fee on top of that $150 that never went through. So, I now have a -$325 balance! I called and complained of course and after speaking with an uneducated person, I demanded the manager who claimed to only be able to give me $70 back. I find this extremely unfair. How in the world was I supposed to know that my deposit would be rejected??? That's crazy to me. Damn this bank to hell. I will continue to complain about this matter to whomever I can to get some sort of compensation, but in the mean time, NO ONE USE THIS BANK!!! If you do not keep a close eye on your money, you WILL lose it! I am switching banks as soon as I can, for this is not the first time that I have been screwed over by TD Bank!

OVERDRAFT FEES
I was never unhappy with COMMERCE Bank. That was why I was with them from the early 80's until 2009. TD BANK is a different story. I have never seen a bank that had an incorrect balance on your account, and then charge you
overdraft fees, because you trusted the amount. That is stealing. My husband had the same thing happened, but he stayed with them a year longer. He finally left them this past week, and joined me with Susquehanna Bank. I am Happy Again. TD BANK is Convient and fast now there are no lines.

DEFERMENT ON AUTO LOAN
I WAS A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF A BANK THAT TD BANK TOOK OVER. THIS WAS ALL FINE UNTIL I HAD A ROUGH MONTH AND ASKED FOR A DEFERMENT ON MY AUTO LOAN, BY THE WAY I HAVE ALWAYS PAID IN FULL ON TIME FOR THE ENTIRE LOAN SO FAR (3 YEARS). THEY REP TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF PAPERWORK AND THIS WOULD BE A MODIFICATION OF MY LOAN AND HAD TO BE TREATED AS A LOAN MOD. THIS DIDNT MAKE SENSE. ALL. A DEFERMENT IS IS PLACING THAT PAYMENT AT THE REAR OF THE LOAN. THEY SAID WE WILL AFTER, AGAIN"A LOT OF PAPERWORK" IS COMPLETE WE WILL THEN DO A FULL CREDIT CHECK ON YOU TO DETERMINE IF WE FEEL YOU ARE FINANCIALLY QUALIFED FOR A DEFERMENT/LOAN MODIFICATION. THIS BLEW MY MIND. THIS WOMEN ACTED LIKE I WAS ASKING TO REFI MY AUTO LOAN AND TREATED ME LIKE I WAS A PIECE OF DIRT. I AM CHANGING BANKS NOW AND WILL SEE IF I CAN REFI MY AUTO LOAN WITH SOMEONE ELSE. THEY DONT DESERVE MY INTEREST ON MY AUTO LOAN.

Overdraft Fees
I was well aware of TD Bank's recent policy of customer use and abuse, but, it did really didn't hit home until after I meticulously planned my BillPay items so that they would not be over-run by check cashing. So...I awoke one Saturaday morning to see three medium sized checks, backed-dated one day, so that they preceeded my seven smaller BillPay items! By doing this, TD conveys the message: "Hey, dim-witted customer, now we have to charge you $35 per over-draft (7 x $35=$245!!!)...and you should be happy we're paying at all!"
I went to the bank and raised hell. I may as well having been speaking to Ripley's wax figure. No real explanation, defense of policy or empathy.
I went home and prepared a letter for the "NJ Commissioner of Insurance and Banking". The next day, a TD bank rep offers me "$70 courtesy refund". I was so tempted to tell him where to shove it ... but, I'm a gentleman. Two days later, I received a letter from the Banking Commissioner that my complaint was being referred to the Treasury Department, "Office of the Comptroller of the Currency". A copy of my complaint has been sent to TD headquarters.
The moral of the story is: Never stop complaining! Do it paper, online, by phone, by blog, by facebook, by twitter...do it all. TD Bank is a rotten, immoral institution that has about as much a place in American society as...hell, I don't know what. Give me some suggestions.

Mortgage Loan Run-Around
TD Bank jerked my family around for about six weeks when we were trying sell our home and the buyer applied for a loan from TD. There was an issue with the well and septic system and they came at us with one question and we'd answer it and one issue and we'd fix that and another question and another issue and on and on until they finally found a reason to turn the buyer down, even though the buyer had a plan to resolve that issue. They were essentially negotiating in bad faith and effectively took our house off the market for the critical spring real estate season. Hearing that they're ripping other people off comes as absolutely no surprise.

Overdraft Fees
I first signed up with TD Bank several years ago and up until today, was quite pleased with them. I've even referred several friends who opened accounts. Last weekend I rented a car with enough in my account to cover it. I had funds transferred to my account to cover any additional I needed for the weekend. Long story short, they held the car charge until Monday and allowed several smaller charges go through. Then when the transfer posted, they put the car charges through causing a $105.00 overdraft fee. Then to make matters worse, I called today to discuss it and saw there were two pending charges. No problem. For some reason, I just checked it again and now they've put the two pending charges through and has charged me another $70.00. I have had it with this bank. They are not for the little man. Thanks Regis and Kelly!!!

BANK FEES
I oppened my account at smitwtown branch. They tell you if your account goes to negative, and if you deposit the money same day you will not get charge any fees. You wanna believe it ? I did. They charge you the fees and when you call them, they tell you its not them, its the system, and there is nothing they can do about it. If you believe JD POWER associates reward and oppen an account, i will guarantee you that you ll pay fees no matter what they say. Every person you call from the TD Bank, tell you different reason for why i am charged for fees. I have a suggestion to everyone. If JD power associates rewars any business for customer satisfaction, KEEP AWAY FROM THEM!!!

Over Draft Fee
TD bank just hot my account with fees totaling 105 dollars for Overdraft. I tired to work out the ridiculousness of the error on the phone, but was treated to a rude demeanor and talked down to. I was theoretically over by $9, but there is nothing they can show me to prove this. My online account don't even say I was... the fee just showed up. They refused to explain it accurately and were generally dismissive. One of the single worst customer service experiences of my life. I will never do business with those thieves again!

Overdraft Charges
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! I have had 3 overdraft issues in 6 months! I have NEVER EVER EVER had these types of issues (until 6 months ago!) I was so upset while on the phone, I started to cry, and my husband had to take over. I had 7 transactions that went through with "insufficient funds" I was slammed for $245! Now, I DO write down absolutely EVERYTHING I put on my card...EVERYTHING! So I am totally confused. In my check book I had $200 on 6/7 after the 7 transactions I made with my card...I said AFTER...I had plenty of money, but they said I didn't and because I was "protected" )HAHAHA I was charged $35 for each of those TINY transactions!
This is a crime. We are closing our checking account with TD bank. I was feeling so horrible, and STUPID, why was it that I did this 3X in 6 months, when I have never, in the 20 years I've had a checking account, so much as bounced 1 check? I am careful with my money, and like most people, money is hard to come by. I am sickened. My 11-year old made me a card saying, "Don't worry, everything will be okay" and gave my $20 out of her bank (A SAFE bank, shaped like a pig, that sits on her shelf...I think i will put MY money in that kind of bank!
Now the chances of me getting these overdraft charges waived is nill...the guy on the phone said so, since I did get them waived the other 2 previous times...(I was charged $35, and $70) well, they really nailed me, on this last time...to make up for the $105 they couldn't STEAL from me before. I DO think it's stealing, like I said, I DO write down all my transactions, I keep track. I am so nervous about using my account. I feel like I can't possibly figure out their GAME, but luckily we won't have to worry about that much longer because we're switching to a credit union.

Check holds and fees
TD Bank is holding on to a check I deposited on Friday and refuses to answer me and tell me when they will clear it even though I have sent them 3 emails today - they keep passing it around to other employees. Also they have been charging me $15 per month for checking for years when they have an account that only charges $3 - they never bothered to tell me - they just kept charging.
