I also rceived an SMS on 3 June 2009 saying that I was the lucky winner of R960 000 and to contact Wilson Taylor (black man who is trying to sound American) I called him from an ID with held number and he insisted that I call him from my cell phone. I asked him straight away if this was a scam and he insisted that it was not and that I should call him back in ten minutes. I waited 2 hours before calling him again and again I asked if this was a scam, and he said no. He then asked that I fax the following info (fax no: 0865468199) copy of my ID, cell number, residential address, ticket number, so that they can deliver the "so called" cheque. I asked why they could not deliver the cheque to my postal address, why my physical... excuse after excuse, so I said okay you can deliver to my work address.
Great, then once I have faxed this info I needed to call him back to make sure that he had indeed received my fax. Again I asked what he wanted with my ID and was he sure this was not a scam. He said I could go on the internet and check it out that the company was legit. In doing this I came up with this site and several other complaints with regards to this SMS Scam. Thanks to all out there that posted on the site, it stopped me from making a huge mistake. I did not fax any info to him. THANK YOU !!!
