Consumers Beware!

In June 2007, I moved from apartment to another in the same city where I live. Before moving I called AT&T to let them know I was moving and that I wanted my number transferred to the new place. They checked to see if that was possible, and told me that they could not transfer the same number to a different area, and therefore I needed to pay up what was outstanding on my bill in order to get a new service at the new apartment. I complied, paid the outstanding bill of $172.52 and moved to the new apartment.

I got a new phone service and lived in the new apartment for three years till I moved again this last June, 2010. Unbeknown to me, before I moved I decided to use the annual free credit report to check on my credit position. On the credit report was AT&T demanding $172.52 from me. Immediately, I filed a dispute with the credit bureau. I also contacted AT&T to find out why they had reported me the the credit bureaus when I did not owe them anything.

Here is what is intersting about this. When I movedinot the new apartment in June 2007, I got a phone service, AT&T had taken my payment over the phone to pay the $152.72 outstanding from the old phone account. Thye ran a credit check before they could me service, so they told me. A few months down the line I applied for AT&T because in the area there was no Comcast, my previous internet provider. To give me the internet service, they ran acredit check on me. It was good . They told me. They also approved and installed internet service for me.

In early 2010, I decided I wanted At&T U-verse the package that includes phone, internet and TV service. I did the same thing and they approved it and gave me service. It took me until June 2010 to see on my credit report that AT&T long ago reported me to the credit bureau for an account I fully paid almost fours ago. I then asked AT&T to furnish me with the details of their claim, and it is now 5 solid months without receiving anything from them even after tens of calls and tens of promises from AT&T.

Unfortunately, the Indiana Utility regulatory Commission does not seem to work for the citizens of the state asI think it works very well for AT&T. I contacted them, and all they could do was refer me back to AT&T for more empty promises.

So, consumers beware.

I am also receiving some abusive calls from Saudi Arabia from 00966-552168997. This is very very untolerable. I get calls even at midnight and early in the morning at around 2:00PM. I get aroung 15-20 calls from this Number. I am from Nepal.

I want to lodge an official complaint for this, either please do the needful or suggest me whom can I approach for this.

This is very very very urgent and Please treat this as a very serious matter.

I. V. Amar Nath had applied for New telephone connection at Rajendra Nagar Mandal, Hyderabad. the department people alloted me Phone No. 040-25501394. but i didn"t get the instrument till now. when ever i made a call officials are saying that we dont have stock of WLL instruments and they even cant say when they can place a instrument at my home, even they are saying that we dont have information regarding that.
