CUSTOMER SERVICE
My house telephone is out o forder since 4 july 2011. This fault was reported on the 5th of July 2011 and Telkom claim that they will repair any customer fault within 24 hours.

Telkom, without attending to the fault closed my fault code on the 8th of july 2011, however the telephone is still not working. I reregistered the fault on the 9th of july 2011 and today 13 July the line is still not working.

I wonder if telkom still got quality Technicians who can reapir a fault or are they to lazy to attend to clients. As long as they receive our monthly payments to pay these lazy bastardfs, they are happy.

I even reported this to Telkom head office with no support. I WISH THE OLD SOUTH AFRICA COULD COME BACK.

Refuse to fix lines
The Telkom cables servicing our company offices were stolen on the 14th of June 2011. Telkom refuses to replace the cables and informed us to find our own way of obtaining telephone services. We are a security company, monitoring alarms and responding to emergencies. We have R100's of thousands of rands worth of equipment depending on a telephone service. We have had our telephone number for the last 21 years - we have stationary, vehicles, advertising boards etc, etc, etc. We cannot possibly think to change it all...!! What to do?

adsl lines down for 3 weeks
I is bad for a big company like Telkom to give a bad aservice as currently the case with myself and my business.
It has been three weeks since first my phonelines were diown and currently the adsl lines.It seems that the fact that
they has the monopoly in South Africa these guys does not care as to their service failure.
Till to date they just come and check in at the premises, it seems it is a way of them just to show the client they are
working on the problem, but we all know nothing is been done.
We really need competition in our ciuntry to force these guys to get their act together.
TELKOM - IF I WOULD HAVE A CHOICE -THEY ARE GONE IN A MINUTE AND I AM SUREA LOT OF PEOPLE FEELS THE SAME.

dead telephone line
on the 28th march 2011, while speaking on my landline, the phone just went dead!
today 2wks 2days later after numerous dead end cell calls to telkoms fault department
we still have no progress.we are constantly told that it is an underground cable fault.the supervisor, whom i was advised to call (clive) is of no help whatsoever.please...
someone help!!!

CHARGES FOR UNREALISED SERVICES
On the 1st of July 2010 I requested Telkom in writing and personally to cancell the order and transfer of 3 lines which I ordered in apparoximately March 2010. By July no lines were available to me and I had to rent lines from the Office Park where my new offices were situated. Various follow up calls revealed that Telkom were busy woth the staiums for teh Wordl Cup and I must be patient. Telkom charged me for installation and rent on these 'lines' that were never installed at my premises. There are no call charges lodged against these lines because they were not physically connected to my switchboard by Telkom . The whole saga cost me dearly as I am in the Financial Services Industry and I had to organise other lines to utilise. I spent days without having means to correspond with my clients .I received a dispute reference number - 25484314 and were promised by Telkom that the matter would be dealt with . Telkom did proceed to cancell the lines but still hold me liable for the Intallation cost and Rental for R3092.60 plus interest of R 800.00 . They now gave me an ultimatum to pay up or my service on my one line that I have on this account will be suspended. I do not see how I can be held responsible for a service that NEVER MATERIALISED !! Had the lines been at my disposal I could have continued with my business as normal. Please assist .

slow speed internationally - and requested time out at 3rd and 4th hob when I am doing tracert
My internet connection is timing out since the 15 of March and I have made a trillion phone calls to the call centre and spoke to many, many people. My bandwidth speed is two thirds slower than before when I connect to my companies server in Taiwan. I have been doing video conferencing for more than 3 years using Telkom 4MG line... ... I have even spoken to the 2nd level of support which contacted SAIX and they reported back there is no fault on the network routing, they test and said there is noise on the line an not their fault. I reported it again and have been waiting for a technician for a long time. We have to separate ADSL lines, with the same problem. ?? I have bought a new moden from Telom, check everything on my computer ... no problem. Goodness how can it be. I normally get a speed of 6oo+kbps to my server (download speed) and 400+ upload. At them moment I am lucky if I get a download of 200kbps and upload about 120kbps. Could anybody please assist me here is the trace reports:

phone out of order
on the 19th of March I reported by phone out of order I received a sms giving me a ref no 42crz1900311 that the fault has been handed to their techicians to date nobody has contacted me . I called in at a Telkom office at Cresta shopping centre and was advised they dont deal with complaints but when you phone their telephone no a recorded message will tell you to call in if you have account queries or faults. When dailing any Telkom numbers that are given to query your complaint you will not be able to get through this is not acceptable.

waiting 7 months for ADSL line
I have applied for an ADSL line seven months ago and everytime I enquire I am told that there is no infrastructure!!! The households around mine all have an ADSL line, which I find rather strange. To date nobody from Telkm has contacted me regarding this matter, it was always I that queried the matter. I am deeply dissappointed with Telkom and their shallow promises made during their adverts yet when a service is applied for they cannot deliver.

Customer Service
I'm a new customer to telkom and I received my bill for the first time so naturally I have a few questions regarding my statement.Firstly I spoke to a female whose name I did not get she informed me that the system is offline and I must hold on and she kept me holding on for a long period of time which I eventually put the phone down.I then called again and got through to a lady named Linda whom I then asked my first question to, she then informed me that she was not sure of the answer to my question and needs to ask someone else to assist her with my query I then asked her if I can rather speak to someone else and she had the nerve to tell me that I cannot speak to someone else I am only going to speak to her, naturally I got furious as I've also asked her to speak up several times and then I put the phone down. I then called again got through to a lady named patience whom was polite and informed me right from the get go that she cannot assist me but will put me through to the relevant department. Then I got through to a guy named Thomas whom I told that I spoke to two of his and one of his collegues gave me very bad customer service and I then asked him my first question and he also had an attitude problem. I thanked him for his horrible service and put the phone down. I called again and spoke a lady named Maureen who assisted me with exceptional service. Clearly telkom needs to re-look at the customer approach as they are wasting very valuable time and money of their own by letting staff treat their customers with no respect. There are so many people looking for work nowadays and to play with your job like that is dangerous, I'm talking of experience. If a consultant treats one customer badly they definately need to look into it. That consultant needs time out to recoop. I hope I don't expreience this again cause I will make a FUSS about it.

No telephone
We have not had a phone that is operational for over 2 months now, Telkom are not able to fix this problem, we have contacted and reported this over and over to their call centre, they have sent people out who obviously do not know what they doing as they can not seem to resolve this issue. in the meantime we are being charged for line rental etc.. what do we need to do to get our line operational and working??? This is rediculous and unprofessional!
