I purchased what seemed to be a sweet deal with the "buy two phones for one" I figured hey I was using Telus pay-n-talk anyhow why not.
Well I signed a 3 year contract for each phone. The rep did a credit check and everything was cool. I activated the two phones, went home and still all was cool.
3 weeks later they cut them off saying I had a past due account from 2000 (6 years earlier) I was not happy. I asked why I was not flagged or instructed to contact telus directly before signing the contracts. They could not give me an answer. I was told however, the contracts are binding even though I should not have been aloud to sign them. They now want $20/month = $720 for each 36 month contract to cancel them.
I am now forced to either pay for 2 phones which are suspended, cancel them and pay out the contracts or get a lawyer and sue a major corporation like telus???
What the heck can a person do???
Please anyone with any suggestions email me at [email protected]
