Transfer of Phone Number
Be careful when you transfer your number from this caring company. My contract was going to run out on Sept. 30.
So when I decided to go to a new provider we did the change over on the 26th. I checked with Telus for my final bill and was informed that because it was transfered 4 days early I was in violation of early termination and was charged $100. I have been with them for 10 years and had nothing but great service. Now I know how it feels to get sucker punched.
So...be warned...only transfer on the last day of service or be prepared to pay for early termination. No ifs ands or buts...Good luck to Telus if I'll ever do business with them again.

internet/phone 3 yr contract
i was stupid enough to get into a 3 yr contract with telus, for internet/phone deal, for 70.94 a month all inclusive, no extra fees, etc, well the first month they started screwing up my bills, to make a long story short, i am now paying 150.00 per month for this service, they said im lying about the contract, even though i have letters from rob durham the senior vice president of telus, on client operations, that i have this contract, every time i phone, which is every month i get this bill, they say ya, well fix it on next bill, LIES, or they just hang up, or they say, its other charges, that is not covered by my contract, OR NO SUCH CONTRACT IN EXISTENCE, SINCE THEY DONT GO BACK FURTHER THEN 1 MONTH!!!, so they cant see i have a contract
is there anyone out there who can help me, with phone numbers of durham or some place or some one who can straighten this out, the customer service people are a total joke, half of them dont speak english, and they all lie!!!

Telus handing out my SILENT phone number
I recently purchased phone service from Telus and the one thing I requested and pay for is a private "unlisted" number.
Well after giving our number to a few family members I started to get calls from banks and credit agencies. Someone who shares the same first name as me (but not the same last name) owes them money and they think I'm him.
After numerous inquiries with this people who refuse to believe who I am I was told by all of them that Telus gave them my phone number. When I phone Telus they said we could fix the problem by buying more advanced phone features from them.
No "sorry". No "our mistake let's fix it". Just "buy more product". Is this why I purchased a silent number to begin with?

Internet ADSL
Where to begin?
Missed service call?
No phone call to say they weren't coming?
The 2+ hours on the phone with technical support?
The 3 people I had to speak with to get another service call booked?
Maybe this is premature - as I write this, the second service call is due later this week.
I wish we had more choice.

billing and alteration of order
in october 2006 i was sold internet service for $15.95 with no extra costs. i asked about the condition of having long distance or a cell phone with telus and was told it would be waived. as a result i said i would like it. the first billing said i ordered high speed enhanced and was billed for this and a long distance plan of $4.95. many phone calls and months later i was still billed for the long distance and the price was still incorrect. telus will not remedy this situation for nearly 2 years and now has once again changed my plan costs and billed me incorrectly. my internet has ceased to function yet my access and emails to telus have been frustrated. i have paid what i agreed to pay for nearly 2 years yet service has been on a one-sided basis with telus chaniging and only their notes are in the file. my assertation on what was agreed to, what i agreed to pay, terms of the agreement have been only telus's official policy despite their own words that the terms ggiven me were incorrect. the person selling and olrdering the service is no longer with telus due to irregularities inb their actions at telus.

Disgraceful Customer Service
I use Telus residential service for my business office in my home (I work remotely for a Toronto-based firm). I've had endless problems with Telus, particularly with their onerous website and difficulty in contacting any living human, particularly in customer service.
Telus believes in the principal of downloading all work possible to their customers, and making the contact process as difficult as possible. For example, there are literally hundreds of web pages to browse through on their customer service site. By phone, their lines all request redundant information, multiple menus (this is a phone company - why can't they have a dedicated number for internet, phone, etc. so you don't need to waste 10 minutes entering information?).
I also use Shaw for a secondary digital phone and my internet and television. Although I've had minor issues, I've never waited longer than 5 minutes to speak with a customer service representative, they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the line quality is excellent. For anyone operating a business from home or a remote office, I would suggest going with Shaw, and using their online fax service if you need to for your faxes.

"catch-up" billing
Got a letter with my phone bill stating "your internet services will be billed on the same day as your other TELUS services" to explain an extra charge on my bill.
I have always got my phone bill and internet bill on the same invoice. What's this about billing on different days. Sounds like a potential 20 million dollar payday for Telus. Not too shabby, but I wonder if this billing expidition was cleared through any regulatory agency.
