My husband had not eaten at Applebee's for quite some time and thought we should try their new 55o calories and under menu. I ordered the Teriyaki Shrimp Pasta and he ordered the Tilapia, quite possibly the worst tasting food EVER. The broccoli florets were huge and the outside was dried out and over cooked while the other stuff like the mushrooms and pasta were a soggy mess, I kept searching for some sort of flavor ANY flavor. My husbands Tilapia and giant florets were the same, flavorless and over cooked. You could tell that it wasn't just an "off" day for the kitchen, I am pretty sure that Applebee's thinks this passes for "good" food. Talk about eaters remorse. Also, they had a sign posted at the table that read "If your server doesn't ask you if you would like a Top Shelf Long Island you get a free appetizer" which is a horrible idea! Our server repeatedly asked us if we wanted a "Top Shelf Long Island Ice-T" like she had forgotten she'd just asked us the other 3 times she came to the table. Though I don't blame our server, it's not her fault that Applebee's came up with this irritating promotion. Though, maybe they try to get you drunk before you get the food because you'll eat almost anything if you're drunk enough. We will NEVER go there again.
