I've been reading over ALL of the comments posted, and I just had to share my story because MY experience has not been like ANY of these! I did receive a call saying the my Car Warranty was about to expire. I wasn't sure if it was so I took a number and told the Agent I would call them back.

I called my Dealer to see if my Manufacturer's Warranty was still in effect, and it was not. So, I called Safe Ride Warranty the next day to see what kind of policy I could purchase. Since my car is a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am, I could no longer purchase a Bumper2Bumper warranty...I had to buy the Powertrain Warranty. The policy and the prices sounded good so I bought it.

I've had the policy for about 8 months now, and I've had to use it once. About three weeks ago, my car stared slipping...like it was missing the shift in the gears. I was able to drive it to the dealership, and got a diagnostic done. My world was almost turned UPSIDE DOWN when Pontiac told me the bill was $2736...almost $3000! The 2nd and 3rd gears were stripped...

I called Safe Ride Warranty immediately and explained what was happening. They directed me to the Claims department where I was able to file my claim. In three days, my car was fixed and my bill was paid---IN FULL! I didn't have $3000 to pay for my transmission, so I can only imagine what trouble I would have been in had i not been covered.

The customer service is friendly and helpful whenever I call with a question. I don't have any complaints..I just wanted to let everybody know about my PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.

Fraud in getting your deposit back
This Policy was sold over the phone.After receiving the policy, I did not like the wording.I Sent it back via USPS Certified mail on 02/17/09(within 30 day free look). I called USPS and stated had been received in ~5 days.I than called to varify if it had been received.Customer service rep.stated that it had been rec'd and would be sent on to next step for refund.They stated it would be about 2-3 weeks for a full refund and than would show up on my credit card statement.I hadnt heard anything as of today, 03/19/09 so I called customer service, 866-451-3070. They were rather rude to me and stated that because I had not returned "the original policy" that was mailed out to me AFTER they had received my copies I had returned to them, and the telephone call they had made to them, I was not eligible for my $295 deposit made at the time the application was made.I rec'd a packet in the mail about a week ago and because I had cancelled the policy and thought it was just junk, I put the packet into the recycle bin which was taken yesterday, and didnt even open it. They tell me now that it was the original policy and because I am not sending it back, they would not refund my $295. I even told them that I would sign an affidavit stating that I cancelled the policy.They said that would not matter. I asked them what good would it do for me to return this packet since I had cancelled the policy already and no one else could use it anyway? They said that it did not matter.It is company policy and in the contract that I was to send back the "original" which I "assumed" I had already done so and that it had already been taken care of.I feel that Im being taken advantage of and feel that my rights have been violated and feel I should be refunded my $295 because of contacting them by phone and mailing back the original paperwork that I had received and mailed it back to them in a timely fashion with a letter stating, "Please cancel my contract. Im within my 30 day "Free Look" and understand I will be reimbursed 100% of my costs.
