I applied for a junior marketing and advertising position through careerbuilder.com. I received an email from this company stating that I was just the right candidate for the job and to email someone in HR to schedule an appointment. The email address was a gmail account. Not so weird, but kind of odd for a company to claim to be so big and successful but not even have their own domain email. The website didn't match up with the email so I called the company. The call went straight to voicemail. About a minute later, I received a call from the girl who was on the answering machine message. She very eagerly asked me if I had just called. I explained the situation and she said it was normal for their hiring manager to send emails from a gmail account. Then she asked if I wanted an interview and could do it within the next couple of hours. I said I couldn't and she was rather pushy to do it. I said I could on Wednesday (48 hrs from now, as today is Monday) or later in the week. She said she didn't know if the manager would be available then. How do you act so eager to fill a position for a company but not even know when available interview times will work with your people? I very kindly told her I'll reply to the email as instructed to do. She said if I need anything then call her and she'll be there til 2 PM each day. I asked her for her name and she hung up.
I researched the phone number and it came up as a scammer for make-up products and harassment.
