Brought 1993 Wellcraft 287 Prima boat to this business to put it on consignment for sale on 3/14/09. If you look at their website today it has not been updated since 4/23/09 and our boat isn't even listed as one of the boats for sale! Had one offer for $1749 under the asking price - refused offer. Went to see boat on 6/13/09 and was told by owner of business (Rick) that we had "abandoned" the boat and said he had left a voice mail message on 5/30/09 stating that the boat was now "storage" and it was $25 a day from 5/16/09. No letter in writing, no certified letter, just the supposed call left on a voice mail! Rick stated that we would have to pay $700 to get our boat back. Absolutely absured! The contract that was signed stated "for a period from 3/14/09 to 12:00 midnight on Owners Notification". NO ENDING DATE! I assume it is his hand writing that he wrote in the "listing also include the following equipment, accessories, and items' the one phone call he supposedly made. No initials from him or us!

Please read their website the states - "What does it cost? - Until we sell your boat, it cost you nothing. After the boat is sold, our usualy commission is 10% with a $500 minimum. If your boat is not sold, there are no hidden fees or costs. The Boat Exchange only makes money if we find a buyer for your boat. You may cancel your contract and pickup your boat at any time." So - does that mean they are false advertising????

This is definately a breech of contract! Whatever you do - take it from somebody who knows - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE BOAT EXCHANGE! They will only try to rip you off like they are doing to us!

Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of South Carolina today (and guess what - they aren't listed with the BBB!). Filing this complaint with The Complaints Board and will be moving next to RipOff Report! Everyone needs to know what kind of business this really is!!!
