The Camera Professionals Reviews

Fraudulent advertising!
I ordered a JVC GZ-HD7 camcorder from this company. On the day of order I asked if it was in stock and when it would ship. I was told it was in stock - as advertised - and it would ship with 5-7 business days. I paid via credit card and was then sent an email that I had to answer to confirm the purchase. I was placed on hold for 7 minutes only to confirm I was who I said I was and to authorize the purchase. I again asked when the camera would ship and this time was told I would have it within 7-10 business days.

On day 14 without the camera I called the company back. After being on hold for 9 minutes I was told the camera was on back order and that they were getting a shipment in that week. This was a Monday, I called back on Friday and after a timely hold of only 4 minutes I was told it was back ordered again but a shipment was coming in on April 11 2008, a full 5 weeks after my initial order, but the difference this time is that I was on the list to actually get a camera. Cameras the web site advertises as in stock everyday since I ordered it.

On April 14 2008 Monday, I called back and was on hold an unbelievable 34 minutes to be told that The Camera Professionals were actually getting an order of these cameras this week. I canceled the order and requested I speak to someone in management. I was told a call would be coming within the hour - that was 3 hours ago.

This company has - and still does - advertise this product as "In Stock" which it is not. I give The Camera Professionals 2 thumbs down and strongly advise everyone to get names and record dates when dealing with these fraudulent people.

Fraudulent company!
They advertised the lowest price I could find on the Canon HV30 camcorder. Their website looked legit, so I called before I ordered to confirm it was not refurbished. Before I could get through my question, the sales rep just hung up on me. Stunned, I decided to call back thinking maybe he dropped the phone. Nope, again the same guy hung up on me. So, now angry and completely stunned, I called back and same guy answered. This time I asked for his supervisor. He seemed responsive to this, even though is tone was depressed and said that there were no supervisors on the weekends. I said I would call back on the week day to report him. He said "yeah whatever" and hung up.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF HEADACHE AND DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Fortunately I had called before ordering online. I feel sorry for those who complained about this company here only after ordering. Just read their complaints. The authorities really need to close this one down.

Deceptive business practices!
Please check this company on the Better Business Bureau before you purchase. I ordered a projector from 'The Camera Professionals', and when I called to verify my order (per the email they sent me) i was on hold for about 20 minutes. When their rep 'Dave' confirmed my order, he advised that the lamp does not come with the unit, and that it would be an additional 200.00 for the lamp as well. This seemed like news to me, but not having bought a projector before, I put my good faith in what seemed to be a mom & pop company. Needless to say, when I received the projector, (i didn't get the ship confirmation until 5 DAYS later - Dave said it would ship next day) not only did i notice there was no additional box for the lamp that I 'purchased', but I also got charged for 2 day shipping which I never authorized. I emailed the projector manufacturer direct to ask if there are different price points for cameras with or without lamps. Optoma replied stating that ALL of their units come standard with lamps.

I called camera pros once again to sit on hold for 30 more minutes for somebody to tell me that even though I never even opened the box, I would be charged a 15% restocking fee for returning the unit. I advised them of the email I received from the manufacturer of my unit stating all of the units come standard with lamps. The rep then put me on hold before coming back and stating that none of their units come with those parts because they are imported from overseas and that I will have to pay almost 200.00 for the restocking fee on this unit.

PLEASE do NOT purchase from this company! They are misleading and NOT reputable. With all of the negative feedback I have found from doing a little online research, I believe that this business should be shut down by a class action lawsuit. The Camera Professionals business practices are unfair, dishonest, and misleading to consumers.

Misrepresentation of product!
Do Not Buy from this online website. I purchased a Fuji Camera that was advertised new in the listing. After calling several times regarding the where-abouts of the camera and getting the run around, they finally sent one to me. Upon opening the box the camera was anything but new. It was used, dirty, no instructions etc. Calling them several times with rude non professional employees was told I could return the camera. I demanded a return label - said they would send one out to me. Waited 4 weeks and several calls - no label sent. Finally returned the camera my own expense and still no refund.

Not professional
These people are not professional. I tried to place an order online and could not so I called their 800 number. I had NO PROBLEM placing the order on the phone and asked him to send me an email confirmation. He took down my email.

I never received an email that day - no biggie - I called back and spoke with someone after 20 minutes on hold. I made the mistake of telling the switchboard director what my problem was apparently. This time someone took down my fax #.

3 days later - still not confirmation. I called again to talk to someone else. The switchboard director asked me what my problem was and I told him again. He put me on hold for a few minutes - picked back up and told me that he would send it again via fax. I waited... no fax. So once again - I called back - was able to speak to the same person and I asked him if he sent it. No. I told him I needed to talk to someone NOW about this and get this information to me. He then said that if I wanted to be rude that was fine. He didn't have to worry with me. I told him that he had bad customer service and he then told me that Bad Customer Service was for "Shitty" Customers. I asked for his name and he hung up on me.

I still have not received a confirmation... 5 days later.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. I WILL SEE IF I EVER RECEIVE MY PRODUCT.

Nikon D300 bait and switch
HERE WAS MY E-MAIL TO THEM BUT THEY HAVE NO E-MAIL FOR RECOURSE OR COMMUNICATIONS -
I wanted to buy a camera from you and put it through online, where it said the camera I wanted – the Nikon D300 – was in stock. When I got someone in sales on the phone he first asked me if I wanted a battery and recharger so I said no. Then he asked if I wanted the plastic foreign made D300 or the USA made magnesium body D300, and that I should get the magnesium one. I started to say something and then he said – "we don't have the other one in stock and you will HAVE TO get the magnesium body one and it will cost 22-99." I said "$2299?" He said yes. "I don't have that kind of money." Then he said, "you will HAVE TO get that one because the we don't have the plastic one in stock." I told him I wanted to cancel my purchase and then he asked me if I really expected to get a camera that cost you guys $1600 for the price you listed on your web site, and I said "that's the price it says on your web site." I repeated I wanted to cancel my order and he said that I HAD TO get the camera. I did finally get him to cancel the order – I believe, at least he said he canceled it (that's okay – I put in a call to my credit card company and they are watching for the charge). Your site is really dishonest, or else the person that is working for you is dishonest. You really need to check into this if what he says is what your policy is. If not, the BBB will be involved, as well as a ton of fraud web site watchers.

Terrible customer service!
I ordered a Fuji digital camera on line, it was the best price however now I know why. They call you up and make a sales pitch for extra warranty and will tell you that you need a new type of storage card which sells at half the camera price even though when I received the camera my old card worked fine and one of the first pieces of info in the manual tells you that it takes several storage cards. They did manage to sell me a camera case in the sales pitch, I refused the card, however when I got it the camera would not fit in. The camera also did not come with a strap, lens cover or av cables as promised. After calling the company back and finally insisting that I was entitled to those items they said they would ship them out. Eight weeks later I had nothing so had to go through customer service again, not a pleasant experience, to which they told me that they could not get hold of those items and would refund me ten dollars, take it or leave it. No apology, end of story. My advice, pay a few bucks more and get it at a store. The name and actions of this company is a joke.

Bait and switch!
These guys are frauds. They are definately not Camera Professionals but rather con artist. I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 660 and withing an hour I received an e-mail to call their 800 number to verify the order. When I called I was transferred several times and finally spoke with a very smart mouth individual. He asked for my order number which I had already given twice and after giving it he asked if I had any questions. I said no. He then informed me that I had to purchase a map set as the unit did not come with maps loaded and would be no good to me. I asked how much and he said $59.95. I said Garmin doesn't sell the unit without maps. He replied, You are not buying from Garmin, how do you think we can sell them so cheap. I replied I don't need the maps. He said your order is canceled. I said I did not cancel my order as I want the unit. He hung up.

I called Garmin to verify if they sold unit without maps and was told no. I called TCP s back and was put on hold for a few minutes then a female cam on and asked my order number. I gave it to her. I was put on hold. In a few minutes the same person I had originally spoken to came on and asked what I needed. I told him I had spoken with Garnin and again told him the unit came with maps and I still wanted it. He said don't waste my time and hung up.

Don't waste your time with these people thay are scam artist from the word go...

False advertising!
This company is a total scam. They advertise items they do not have at extremely low prices. They then try to "bait and switch". I called their toll free number and was advised that they had a Garmin 660 navigation system in stock for $274. I placed the order. Five days later I called again and asked if the item was in stock and was told that it was. I then asked for my tracking number and was told that the item was sold out and would not be available for another month. I then received an email from them to call one of their salesmen who tried a bait and switch. I canceled the order and reordered from Amazon. Beware of this company!!

Shady company!
Called the company to ask question regarding a D80 - after 15 min of hold, a rep picked up, placed me back on hold without saying a word, 10 min later - answered, I asked if the camera came with a battery - looking at purchasing a "superb package deal" - rep says "its available" - and hangs up on me. i quickly called back, went through the same ordeal of hold, when the rep picks up the phone - hangs up... I placed an order for a package deal, figuring if no battery in the package can buy locally, so I order online, and get a email confirmation from them stating that I need to contact them in 48 hrs to process order - they need to verify credit card and ship info, I get rep - he asks me my order # puts me on hold - 10 min later - same guy picks up, and asks for my order #, puts me on hold, then comes back and tries to upsell me the package deal because the package is not us product, plastic lenses, and has no warranties - which is totally different then what I ordered, what their website says - "All products have US warranty" - I told the rep i did not want the order and to cancel the order - he hung up on me. I called my credit card and canceled it, and wrote an email complaint to the companies email - like that will do any good.

Overall - you will get better service calling a customer service department that has been outsourced to India!!!

Warning - Scam artist who will bate and switch you with false advertising!
