Refund Not Honored
I made a fully refundable down payment of $5000 for surgical equipments to The Compliance Doctor (Troy Lair, President) in August 2009. Because the project failed to materialize, I requested a refund on October 16th, 2009. Troy Lair affirmed the request and informed me that he will process the refund as quickly as possible. It is now Jan 1st, 2010 and I still have not received my refund. Mr. Lair failed to respond for weeks at a time, claiming that the "real" owner of the equipments (an ENT surgeon with terminal illness, allegedly) was out of the country, and then his own prolonged sickness with a flu prevented him from working. Based on his last email correspondence, he claimed that he had my money, and even requested that I instruct him on how I wanted the refund processed (which I have instructed him numerously in the past). Nevertheless, that was over a month ago, and I still not received my money yet. Incredibly, his "mother" emailed me asking me to stop my contacts with her son, Troy, as his health was in compromise, and that if I can find it within my heart to give him a break - needless to say, I was speechless. But that was weeks ago as well, and since then despite numerous attempts, I have not heard from Mr. Lair again. Ironically, I see that Mr. Lair has been busy online promoting his company and services on various blog sites - supposedly during the same period that his health was so sick that he required hospitalization. Needless to say, Troy Lair is not accountable and responsible, and I would warn everyone to think twice about utilizing his services (medical devices, surgery center accreditations). His company is based in Los Angeles, and on his website, it only lists his personal cell phone number as the contact number for his company. I am pursuing legal means to get my money back. Don't make the same mistake I did - avoid his services. While I can not speak about his other customers and their experiences, my experience with his company and his lack of accountability has been horrendous and quite frustrating. Even more so because he never denied my right to a refund = but he simply will not process it.
