Restocking fee on wrong order delivered
On 2/27/11 I purchased a table and chairs & arranged delivery for 3/6. Chairs were the wrong ones. Delivery man called customer service who said we could return the order without a restocking fee, or keep the table until we found out if the proper chairs were available.
I chose to return the whole order, and the delivery man confirmed with Courtney that there would be no restocking fee. He confirmed it for us on his paperwork, which we photocopied. After a week of going back and forth with C/S, not getting answers on availability etc. I was told they could deliver what they believed was the right product, but not during a delivery time acceptable to me. My husband even asked if they could guarantee it was the correct product and was told by Kim that they wouldn't guarantee anything for us.
I was told I was being charged a restocking fee if I didn't take it. The fee is for the table only, as the chairs were wrong. However, they won't break up the order and let me take the table. So, if it is one complete order, why was I charged a restocking fee? Customer Serivce was RUDE and would not budge. DO NOT SHOP THERE! THEY DON'T DESERVE OR APPRECIATE THE BUSINESS!

Refund
Went to store, ordered a mattress, salesman upped the price at register by $100, says he quoted us on Queen, not King..price was still reasonable so I wrote a check for full amount, was to pick up mattress the following week when it was in stock.
Researched The Dump and the mattress manufacturer, Dormia on the net...too many negative comments, decided I didn't want to go through with this order, called the Dump's toll-free # very next day, Sunday. Was told we would receive our refund check in 7 -10 business days. Day 8, no check, called cust svc, they say the check was processed, give it the full 10 days. Day 10, no check, call cust svc, they tell me I have to speak to the store that I made the purchase, their business office would assist, spoke to business office same day, they said wait another day for check then call us back so we can call corporate for you. 2 days later, no check. Called cust svc again, they are corporate, they tell me check processed on 12/5, call business office in PA. No one will tell me if business office in PA has my check, or mailed my check or will hand me a check. Because they are only open 3 days a week, I now have to wait to the end of the week to even speak to the business office. I doubt they are going to have any more info. Many many complaints through the PA Better Business Bureau and the Houston TX BBB about this co. The largest # of complaints: refunds. I want the store to make me whole ASAP. I expect I am going to have to cause a ruckus at the store if I don't get satisfaction. This is absolutely ridiculous. Just because they are a national company with multiple locations DOES NOT mean they use good business practices.

Bait and Switch
Please be very cautious in dealing with The Dump furniture outlet.
If you are shopping at the Oaks, PA location, please avoid making your purchase from Gigi (Georgia), a sales associate. She plays the bait and switch game with your furniture purchase. She is quite willing to compromise customer service and quality. We purchased a piece of furniture that was to be shipped from the factory and she substituted a floor model without informing us or putting it in writing. The furniture wobbled and the delivery people left in a hurry to avoid having to return the furniture.
We have filed a dispute regarding payment for this piece of furnitue. We also have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This Dump definitely is a store where you shop at your own risk. And if you do decide to purchase a piece of furniture from Gigi, you at least know the risk you are taking.

service and sales
The dining set which I was going to purchase was on the floor. Another couple also were looking at the set. The salesman said they only had 2 sets on hand so I told him I would like to purchase it right then. He wrote up the order and told me it was in the warehouse. Then I picked out a coffee table and 2 end tables and purchased them as well.
The salesman did some computer searches and said the tables were also on hand in the warehouse.
He took us up to the front of the store and turned us over to the clerk who wrote up the final order.
The delivery was set for the following week on a weekday .
The store is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday but the delivery was scheduled for mid week .. I was told I would receive a call confirming the delivery date.
The charge for the purchases appeared on my Visa account the Monday following the day I ordered.
When I had not received a confirmation call I thought I had better call them to be sure of the delivery being set up
I couldn't get anyone in the store since it was a week day and finally after searching on the web I found a customer service phone number.. I called and spoke to a person in another state. This person told me my furniture was on Back Order! When I said I was told it was in stock she said she didn't know anything about what the people in the store told customers. When I asked when it would be in stock she said they may not get more of that particular item at all but that she would have no idea when it would be there if they did get more. I told her to credit my account which she said she didn't have the authority to do but that she would email the store informing them of my complaints.
They had charged my account without even having the furniture and not only that the sales person assured me they had all of the pieces in the warehouse!
It took several days and several attempts to contact the people in the store where I purchased the furniture to get to talk to someone and then they told me I would have to talk to a manager ... there was no manager available... bottom line the only way I could get my money back was through my Visa. Thank heavens the Visa people removed the charge .. If I had used any other method of payment I would have been in big trouble.
What a "DUMP" it is... very poor and should not be allowed to do business ... they are scamming people.

Defectife mattress
Dealing with the Dump has been nothing but a nightmare. I first contacted the Dump customer service about my mattress in January of 2010, only to be given the run around by the customer service department. I wrote letters and issued a complaint to the BBB and finally the store manager said we could exchange the less than a year old defective mattress for a new one. Well they only said that to shut us up and to get rid of the complaint with the BBB. The king size mattress has indentations(its sinking on the right and left side and the middle is as good as new) as to where me and my husband sleep and squeaks really loud when you get in and out of bed. You feel springs poking at you in your sleep. I have horrible back pain from this mattress and have been going to a chiropractor over it. When we purchased the mattress there was a 10 or 15 year warranty on the mattress. The bedding manager Beau, gave a hard time and showed us some other mattress that was not ours. He said well its the model number on the receipt. I said well that is not our mattress at all. I then had to go all the way back home, take pictures of the mattress and bring them back to show him. This store is nothing but a SCAM. We were then told by sales person Brad that he would order us a new mattress and he would call when it came in.. Well 3 weeks went by no one called. So I called them and they told me it was in and the deal was we had to transport our old mattress back and they would give us a new one. Well the joke was on us. My husband loaded the old one on top of the car and brought it all the way there and then they told him that there was dirt and urine stains on it?? I never knew either of us to pee the bed and the dirt was the size of a dime and it was from loading it on the car. So they were going to try to re sale it this defective mattress. A used mattress being returned to the manufacture due to it being defective should not matter if it had a speck of dirt on it. The dirt occurred from the transportation from our house to the store. This store is horrible and sells used mattresses. Our mattress was probably used it makes me think. They have greatly inconvenienced my husband and I and now we are stuck with a horrible mattress to sleep on and basically threw 999.00 out the window.

Pick-up wait time
We were out shopping last weekend and bought an item that we were going to take home with us and found out that there was a 4-4.5 hour wait for pick-up!!! That is so ridiculous! The Dump should warn customers of a long wait time so that we don't waste our time shopping. We would have turned around and left had we known the wait time was so long. We have spent thousands of dollars here, but we won't ever come back. They should really hire some new people in the warehouse or get their act together if they want to keep their customers. Nobody wants to wait 4.5 hours just to pick-up a piece of furniture.

All around bad experience
We purchased a king mattress and box spring from The Dump on 11/14/2009. Paid for them, checked to make sure they were in stock and scheduled delivery for 11/21/2009. When we had not heard from them by 4 PM, I called to see where the delivery was. Customer service told me the matress was on back order and would not be delivered until after 11/25. A short time later, the delivery crew showed up with only the box springs! BIG PROBLEM! We had already disposed of our old mattress. When we went to the store to ask for a refund, we were asked to leave or they would call the police. Everyone was very rude and we got NO satisfaction. Following our visit, we made several phones calls to their customer service deptartment and were finally told they would refund our $1750.00 in 7-10 days, minus restocking and delivery charges and of course we had to return the box springs. We were warned about them by another major retailer, that they indeed used Bait and Switch or delivered sub-par materials but didn't believe it. Well, now we do!. We will take them to civil court and no doubt win but WHAT A HASSLE. Please, if you want quality and good customer support, don't go to The Dump, the name fits...

Horrible customer service, dishonest sales tactics
My wife and I were decieved and ripped off by THE DUMP store location in Irving Texas. We purchased an expensive mattress. The company's third party delivery people refused to set up and tak apart pour old mattress and bed frame. In return, we refuse delivery, they stoick us with almost $1000.00 in restocking fees for a mattress set we don't have. I have all the details on my website that I created. www.thedumpsucks.com

Mattress Claim
My husband and I purchased a mattress and boxspring set from The Dump in 2005. The set came with a full 20 year warranty. In 2007 we began to experience problems with the mattress. We filed a claim in 2007 theu Haynes Furniture which handled all of the claims and after 6 months we were told that The Dump now handled all of their claims so we would need to re-file our claim. By then it was February 2008 at which time we re-filed the claim as instructed. We sent in pictures, forms, etc as asked to. Well it is now October 2009. We are still dealing with this claim. Every time we call there is another excuse as to why they are still processing the claim! Terrible customer service! A true waste of money!
