The Grant Professor Reviews

charged our bank account without our knowledge
In Oct2008 my husband and I purchased The Grant Professor online with our debit card. The disc costed 1.98 and it promised to give details about government grants. We couldn't get the disc to work properly so we dropped the pursuit. In Feb 2009, 4 months later we have noticed charges on our bank statements each month since Oct. 2008. The first charge is 69.95 by The Grant University less than 10 days after we bought the disc. We hadn't even recieved the disc yet. The next charge was for 29.95 each month for four months by the IWB Club(Ideal Wealth Builders Club, or so I was told by their representative).TheIWB Club got 119.80 from our account and The Grant University got 279.80. We did not sign an agreement or contract but they claim we did. When we asked a rep from The Grant University where were they located they said they were affiliated with a company from Nevada. When we persisted and asked for their physical location, they said they were in the Phillipines. I would like to know is this fraud? I believe it is. We are searching for legal advice. Please contact us at [email protected]

scam don't tell you that it will cost you 100.00 a month after a few days

Complaint Rating:
Purchased a disk containing info about securing free government grants for 1.98. Then 69.95 and 29.95 charges started showing up on my cc. When I called they said it was in the info sent with disk. All I received was a disk-no password or other info. Will not refund any monies.

Fraud
I just discovered that The Grant Professor had charged my credit card $69.98 which I did not authorize. The only charge I authorized was $1.98 for shipping and handling for a free cd to help me learn to write a grant. This is definitely a scam and a fraud. When I ordered the cd, they said I would receive a phone call and an e-mail confirmation immediately. I did not receive either. When I called the phone # listed on the cd, I was not able to get through to anyone.

Internet Fraud
I, like many others, ordered a CD for $1.98 on 12/6/08. They promised a phone call which never came. The CD was supposed to arrive in 5-10 days. When I received my credit card statement, I was billed $1.98 for the CD and $69.95 that I had not agreed to. I tried to contact them by phone and e-mail. I received a message on the phone that the office was closed (after hours). I never received an e-mail reply. I went to the website and nothing comes up but complaints about the company. I contacted them on 12/24/08 and was told the CD would arrive in 5 - 14 days (it should have been here already), and that I could not have a refund. When I told the female, name unkown, that the grant professor was a scam, she hung up on me.

scam
As I had just woke up and started my usual computer research, my usual cautious self wasn't quite awake. I always check if there is any bad information out on a company I'm trying to us. Stupid stupid tired brain.

Saw the ad under the AOL sponsored links and thought, sure I can try that company. So, entered all my information to get a cd for $1.98 (shipping and handling) and a password to sign into service online. the website they give you is :
www.thegrantprofessor.com with a login and password that won't work.

The original page I found was a review of different government grants,
http://www.grants-reviewed.org/1/
that at all generated from this scam. None of the grant groups are what you think they are, they all are generated pages from the same place.

After getting a none working login and password, I called the two numbers I found through it, 877-207-1615 and to cancel 877-207-1605. Both of these numbers have very deliberate computer generated actions, one with only music and the other with a computer sounding message. I don't believe any one will pick up.

When my brain was shocked awake, I looked up online more indepth and found this board of complaints and the many people within the last two years who've had issues.

I reported my bankcard as lost and as they had only just charged $1.98, I wasn't going to wait til they charged the $70 after 7 days. This is in the nice legal paperwork that you agree to after giving all your info. That, I wish I had copied! They supposedly are an LLC, there should be a way to get this company OFF the internet and hopefully sue their butts off!

I received a login and password that didn't work, I didn't receive any email (like they said they'd send) for confirmation and I didn't receive a phone call (like they said) to verify information for sending the cd in the mail. IF I receive a cd (a big IF), I will not use it, since it just might be a nice trogan waiting for me to open it. I do have a computer I can sacrifice to the cause, but IF I receive any such cd, it will be proof against them in court!
