The Grant University Reviews

Scam and stealing
I went online 11/25/08 and ordered a grant cd for 1.98$. They charged my acct. 1.98$ and I finally received the cd about a month later. Then on 1/2/09 they charged my acct 69.95$ which was not authorized. I tried calling their number, but they are out of the office. I emailed them also. I contacted my bank and have closed my debit number, since I am now reading they will probably keep charging my acct. I never authorized anything other than 1.98$. This is totally a scam.

close out account which is wrong
I took out the promo ad on grant money, i have been charge almost $700 per month. I have never even used this qwb site to try to get a grant, nor do i plan to use it. I want it shut down, took off, kill it, torture it, waterboard it, and get it off my credit card. I have not been able to even reah you peole to get it jclosed down, i have called and called and i am always told i was calling out of region, and i have never been able to reach you, finally i am tryinbg this, i sent another email and it came back, so what am i supposed to do? If this amount is charged on my account, i will close out the credit card and you won't have one to put charges on. I never knew i would have to pay 70.00 per month which is absoultely ridiculous for i can't pay this and i am ont going to pay iot. I seen on the internet just how much of a fraud this company is. Scam charges
I am trying to buy a house so I wanted to check out grants. Some how I got to The Grant University. They promised me a CD and I only had to pay $1.98 for shipping and handling, but by buying the CD you enroll in their program that they charge you $69.99 for if you don't cancel in seven days.

Be aware that this is a monthly charge. If you go back and look at the advertisement this is put in something like clear letters.

Don't have a busy life like myself It was two months that I realized that I did not have my CD. But they were charging me $69.99 for the service. I also thought I needed the CD to use the service.

They could not tell me when they sent the CD but they could take my money. That is because they never sent the CD because if they did they would be able to tell me when they did.

They constantly phoned me and put enfises on $1.98 I don't remember where they got my phone number from.

So be aware what you do on the internet. I have been taken for a ride I am a poor person I don't have $69.99 to just give away. I can barely pay my rent.

RIPPED OFF
WHAT A RIP OFF!!! I sent for their "Free CD" and paid shipping of $1.98...now what shows up on my credit card but a bill for $70. Apparently there was fine print about a monthly payment unless you cancel it.

You can't get through their customer service stonewalling to anyone in charge; they put you on hold for ages; then say, "tough luck...you should have read the fine print."

This is just another example of consumer fraud. My bad. I should never have 'bit' on the website ad.

SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN.

Unauthorized debits to my checking account
I found this company when searching for home improvement grants. The information on their website led me to believe that the only fee involved was $1.98 for postage and handling for their CD. A monthly subscription for their services was not mentioned anywhere. I have since been billed almost $210 for monthly charges, and am working with my bank to recover these funds. Stay away from this company!!!

Fraud and cheating
I ordered a Cd from the grant university which advertised Free cd, just pay 1.98 shipping and handling and they will send information to get Free money from grants on 10/21/08. The cd arrived on 10/25/08 and did not even work. Now I find out that I was charged 69.95 today 10/29 for membership. I did not authorize any membership. I called the toll free number and was told I did not cancel within the 7 days trial. How could I, the cd did not arrive until 10-25. They do not tell you that a 7 day trial membership starts when they MAIL the cd. Now I have a charge that put my credit card over the limit and have extra charges for over the limit and the still cannot use the CD, the grant professor!!! This company is a ripoff. DO not order anything from them.

Too many unauthorized charges on my account
Same story here. I ordered a CD on 11/03/08. Recieved an email next day. Didn't get the CD until 11/12/08. Next day $69.95 charge on my account plus some others accumulating. Drove my account into NSF with all the other bank charges. I have been trying to contact them to no avail. Over $400 in charges total. I have called most of the other places, cancelled, and am getting refunds, except from Grant University. I am a retired veteran and living on a limited income. I have to file fraud reports because of my bank. I didn't see anything on their CD order page or in their website about a $69.95 charge. What a scam!!!

unauthorized charges
The Grant University unfortunately is a scam. I scanned their website and ordered a CD for $1.98 to learn more about what they had to offer. The next thing I knew, upon looking at my bank statement, an additional $69.95 had been deducted, definitely without my authorization to do so. The first time I called the person hung up on me. The second time I called the person was very rude and refused to refund my money to my checking account telling me it was for a membership that I had not subscribed to nor authorized. I did not even receive the CD! This is definitely a scam and very misleading organization and the public needs to be made aware!

Ripped off
I ordered from the grant university based on a review of government grant companies on http://www.grants-reviewed.org/1/ and I got ripped off. I canceled my order well within 7 days and still got charged 69.95 from gu and 29.95 from IWB. You can't even trust the organizations that are claiming to protect you.

I too tried to get my money back to no avail.
