I was researching ways to make extra money close to the holidays and was looking for something that I could do at home. I found a link on an ad for the Today Show claiming this woman made thousands of dollars simply from her home computer. I entered the website and from there it all went downhill. I decided to try this link for only 1.97 to try it out. Next thing I know, I get my credit card statement and I have 2 charges from The Internet Profit House for $68.53. December 4th was the first charge, the next charge was December 25th? Why would I have these 2 charges from a company I NEVER heard of. I called the phone # on my credit card statement to find that it was a work from home internet based company. When talking with their customer service representative she informed me that there was nothing they could do. I complained more and she finally agreed to refund me the most recent charge for the $68.53. I wasn't completely satisfied since I never received anything in the mail, or anything in my email from them confirming, or my authorization for them to deduct any money from my account. I called the following day and was greeted by a very rude representative, who basically told me that since they had all my information : my address, phone #, email address that I must've signed up for something and that my confirmation email was probably sent to my spam. I talked with a supervisor who also was rude interrupting me when I was trying to explain my situation. She ultimately told me that since I cancelled my account with them the previous night there was nothing she could do and that I should've read the terms and conditions more closely. I never gave anyone authorization to charge my credit card any amount of money except the initial $1.97, nor did I receive anything via email or us postal mail from this company in regards to this account. I feel that this company is ripping people off left and right when all I was trying to do was look into trying to make more money, not have people steal money from me. I have read online more complaints on this company and how deceptive they are. I feel that I was taken advantage of and would REALLY appreciate my money back. I don't dare to believe them that they are crediting my account the one charge of $68.53. The company is overseas so I can not submit a complaint to the BBB, however, this company should no longer be in practice and something should be done about the innocent people that are being taken advantage of and their money that is being taken from them. I would like a refund for the total amount of $137.06. That is 2 charges of the $68.53. One in December 4th, and one on December 25th.
