Transmission ruined
My daughter and I went to the shop to get a routine transmission fluid change and that is exactly what I wanted. He asked me if I wanted my transmission flushed. I asked if that was good for it and he said yes. It is only $99.00 The upper Tech's name was Arthur. The lower Tech's name was Jason. The manager's name is David. They have been maintaining my 2002 since 2002. It had 111016 miles on it when they flushed it at 12:04 P.M. At 2:00 P.M. my transmission was blown. It would not shift. They sent a repairman out to me in Bridge City because I was broken down. He checked the fluids and all the connections and said it was nothing they did wrong and left. He let me talk to the manager which is David on his cell before he left. David admitted that they had been servicing my vehicle since 2002 and told me at different times they had recommended a transmission flush, but that we had never done it before. He recommended a transmission company to take it to and gave me a phone# to a shop in Port Neches. The phone# was 409-722-5311. The name of the company is Affordable Transmission. I called the man and he asked me how many miles my vehicle had on it and I told him over 100, 000 miles and he immediately told me the flushing should have never been done if it had never been flushed before. He told me when they flushed my transmission that the flushing matter they use has real strong detergents in it and that the clutch on my transmission was being eaten up and now I would have to have the whole transmission overhauled. The cost would be around $1600.00. I called AAMCO and they told me the same thing. The thing is I only wanted my transmission fluid changed as a routine maintenance and that is exactly what I told them in front of my daughter. Her name is Nicole Fruge. Her phone#is 409-828-0043. She is 29 years old and is a witness to all of this. My Tahoe is sitting outside. The mileage now reads 111087, but it broke down way before that. I had to baby it some kind of way to get it home. We were stranded for 3 hours. When the Lube Shop Tech came out I asked him what I should do. He never even offered a wrecker. He just left me and my daughter parked at a shopping mall in Bridge City. The people in Merle Norman saw us outside and know he just left us there. I feel they are totally responsible for my vehicle because they had the history on it since 2002 and they caused my transmission to go out. I am praying it didn't damage the motor in any way. This is a very nice vehicle and is my pride and joy. I picked it out because I loved it and still do. Please help me if you can. I don't want this happening to anyone else.
