Assalam walai kum, Sir / Madam,
I recently made contact as a UK national with the Institute of Petroleum as UK / International student wanting to study in the great state of Dubai. I would like to study Petroleum Engineering & have 3 science A levels from the UK.
However, to my disappointment I found it the most dissatisfactory in the way it treats prospective students e.g. The only way I got an email reply was when I threatened to go to "Times Higher Education" league. Since, neither their admissions dept nor their heads of department have responded to my queries - let alone admitting me.
My question to you is how do you propose to make Dubai / UAE a hub for activity & attract the best personalities & qualified persons when educational institutions are underperforming & undermining the work you are doing to bring UAE into 21st century. E.g If they have no time for emails they need to have a secretary to deal with queries. Myself as a well qualified, privately educated student am extremely put off by this bad attitude or obstacle. i will be glad to forward you email chain.
I would aslo be more than happy to relay this at any "Majlis" you or SHeikh Makhtoum may have. Quite frankly institutions such as this are underperforming & need to be told to perform better & be the best if they are to attract the best talent.
Thank you for your time - jazak Allah khairun
