This GYM Sux
As a stupid consumer, I had a bright idea to join a gym. I though it would fill in the gaps, give me something to do while my partner was away, and help me better myself. I live in East TN, so I was automatically drawn to THE RUSH. Their commercials and advertising, as well as facilities make them stick out. So off I went. Of course I signed up! It looked awesome and the sales rep was very nice. He guaranteed that the contract was for 2 years, there were ways out, and it was inexpensive. So I started to go regularly. After my 2 years was up, I had decided I had enough. We moved and it made the trip nearly 30 miles, life got hectic, and I didnt want that $50 withdrawl each month. I bebopped down to the facility and explained to a rep that I was done. He tried to pull up my contract (which was half black) and explained that my file had me down for 4 years. I told him no and that I would go and get my contract. Sure eno8ugh, it was lost in the move, and they couldnt get a full copy of it either. According to them, there was nothing that could be done. After I calmed down, my partner and I decided we would just add her to the contract so we could go together. In this meeting, I made it very apparent that I didnt not want the contract extended. The rep agreed, went over the new charges to our account, then we both asked numerous questions about any other charges, the length of the contract, what to do when it was up, etc. All the same, the contract was up at the same time, the only charges incurred would be the amount discused, etc. So we started to go together. Six months after the meeting in March, I noticed 2 extra charges on my account. I called, was hung up on twice, called a retard and stupid twice, and the third customer service guy even disclosed that fast service without correct information was the reason the were called the RUSH. I filed complaint with the BBB only to find out they cant help. This business is entirely unethical and cannot comprehend true customer satisfaction. They are not even willing to let me out of it all without another bogus charge. Hundreds of their clients have the same complaint, yet the business is allowed to continue using these practices. The debited my account without my autorization as far as I am concerned.

Horrible Customer Service
One of the personal trainers is extremely rude. This girl is unfriendly, extremely unprofessional and emotionally unstable. My husband and I were working out and she would go out of her way to walk by me various times and actually hit me with her shoulder. Once, we were working out and she got right in my face and yelled. I believe her name is Sarah, I don't know for sure because I don't even know this person. However she appears to be extremely unstable, insecure and again, I cannot express how very, very unprofessional she it. When I proceeded to express my concerns to the manager there, he came across as I was making this up and got very defensive, rather than address my concerns (as the customer). I was very unimpressed. He told me if I wanted to complain, I needed to come in when he wasn't busy and look at video footage with him. WOW. That was a dissapointment, and a terrible way to address a customer complaint. This person obviously wasn't hired for their management skills. I work for a large organization in the area and I am also in the Army Reserve, I really advise people to go to alternate facilities because I don't want to expose my co-workers to such terrible, careless service in a facility that they will feel uncomfortable. If you are looking for a work out facility in the area, I highly suggest you look at other facilities. Best Regards, a working professional and combat veteran

Contract Form Filled Out A Year Longer Than Requested
On November 11, 2009 my husband and I came into the 8845 Kingston Pike Rush Fitness Complex to add me onto his account. Sara helped us fill out the paperwork at which time we specified that my contract should terminate at the same time my husband’s ended (December 2010). When he changed payment method we found out that I am actually signed up for a year longer than we had specified. My contract should terminate on 12/17/10, however, she put it in as a 24 month contract. I spoke with Joshua Kennedy who brashly told me that Sara was no longer employed with them and that there was nothing he could do. When I tried to find out what could be done, he told me to contact the corporate offices and hung up the phone. I have sent 2 emails to enquire about the status of my contract since then, but have not received a reply.
