TERRIBLE LIARS
This place is HORRID!! My boyfriend and I currently live in FL ... and guess what there is NO Rush Fitness Complex here, and we still have a membership! Why is this .. because canceling our membership is like trying to break into Fort Knox!! The customer service is terrible ( Hannah, and Katherine ), and when I ask to speak with someone higher up they say there is no one else there - but I get put on hold while they "check with the manager" ... WTF?? I faxed them a paycheck stub and a rental lease agreement from FL and then asked for them to call if there was anything else needed. Well, of course, they didn't. So I called to make sure everything went through, and they said none if it was acceptable!! What?!?! A rental lease agreement and proof of employment is not proof of residence in Florida?!?! So anyways - I am still dealing with this and have to mention that I am completely and utterly frustrated with this horrid company and wish I had more money to take these monsters to court! Beware of these scoundrels!! Support your local smaller gyms - I will never step foot into one of these monopolizing corporate thievery dungeons again.

Cancellation policy
Read the Fine Print
Spread the word, do not join this gym, unless you understand the terms. You can not cancell your membership untill it runs out, and they try to get you in a three (3) year contract, so beware. Tell everyone you know.

Misleading Radio Ad / Rude Staff
In the summer of 2009 The Rush ran a radio ad pushing a $19 down and $19 month plan (in Greensboro, NC). My wife an I spoke to Lamar Mints (Battleground Avenue branch) who informed us that no such combination existed. He presented two plans (We have the Fitness Consultant Notes). One offered $19 down with the monthly being $29 month. The other was $135 down and $19 month. He then broke the news that both plans were only for limited access (certain days/certain hours). The radio ad clearly was meant to bait.
He then told us that if my wife wanted the access suggested in the radio ad, it would cost $149 (plus first and last month) down and $39 month with a 2-year contract.
That's called bait and switch and it is illegal.
My wife signed the contract and felt obligated for a year. Now that The Rush has collected far more than a year's worth at the 19/19 plan, we tried to end the contract. I spoke with a membership rep. I showed him the paper that Lamar had completed with the two limited access options. He responded by saying that it was questionable why we waited so long. I told him our reasoning and pointed out that the timing doesn't change the "bait and switch" problem.
He called over General Manager Mike Helton. He asked for the piece of paper. I told he could look at it, but I wasn't going to let go of it (for it is clear evidence of a bait and switch). He laughed, shook his head, and turned away from me saying I needed to contact Member Services. He went to get his card...
THEN he asked to see my membership card and told me I had to leave. I asked for a card from the first rep I spoke with, but he refused to give me a card or tell me his name.
I offered to let the Rush keep the money (far exceeding a 19/19 two-year contract) if they would release my wife from the second year. They laughed at me and told me I had to leave. All we want is to cancel the remaining year of the contract.
