It was explained that I was only required to pay s/h for TheGrantUniversity CD- $1.98. No timeline was given for additional fees. This is why I agreed. I was then asked if I wanted to try the 21 free trial for a discount membership program. I had 21 days to cancel or I would be charged $17.98 and this would be deducted monthly and could be canceled at any time.

2 or 3 days later I reviewed my bank statement and found a $69.00 debit from TheGrantUniversity. I contacted the number given and I explained that nothing was said about the $69. I had written everything down and intentionally went over the amounts I would be charged with only included the $1.98 and possible $17.98 if I didn't cancel.

The rep said that the sales rep I spoke with lied to me. The rep said her records showed I ordered the cd on 11/07/08 and had seven days to review and if I didn't not cancel within the 7 days I would be charged $69. I had not even received anything from TheGrantUniversity and I just spoke with their sales rep just 2 or 3 days prior.

I told her that because of my inconvenience and being lied to that I wanted to cancel the order right then and wanted my $69 credited back to my bank acct. The rep stated she would have to call this an 'escalated' call and would have to refer the call to her manager and forwarded me to a voicemail where I left a message and haven't yet rec'd a call back.

In looking at my grant file I do have a CD that came addressed from The Grant Professor and doesn't mention anything about TheGrantUniversity on the outside of the mailer or the CD (however, the phone number is the same that was provided by the rep that lied to me).

I gave my initial s&h charge and they were to send me a cd but they tried to take $69.95 from my account. I have not received the cd and do not plan on paying this fee. I put a stop payment on this amount.
