I was a Java developer for more than 6 months here. Believe me, this company treats contractors as shitballs.
Horrible workplace - While the employees get nice big cubes, the contractors have to sit on cramped tables next to the stairs, walkways or the restrooms and share their dustbins with each other. I was sitting next to the stairs and my table was considrered the best among the worst. I would stick cotton balls in my ears to block out the sound of opening and closing doors and people chatting in stairs, trying to concentrate on my work.
Horrible management - I thank the almighty to make me meet the most soulless people on earth. My Manager is so inconsiderate to contractors, while she treats employees as own children. I don't understand why, since we all do the same hard work. Most of the contractors got laid off with lesst than 1 week notice, not because of losses or recession, but because the higher management decided to replace all contractors with cheap inexperienced Interns.
Unbearable humiliation - And finally, my days in this company was the most humiliating period of my life. You don't get invited to all meetings, you don't get any training and no matter how much you do, you're still a shitball because you're a contractor. No words to explain the humilation I felt when the manager refused to sign a relieving letter on the last day because it had a line saying 'This employee's contribution was valuable to the organization'. So, does that mean that I was a useless whore?
