I have a complaint about the mobile network Three.
It may seem like a trival complaint, but I do feel quite strongly about this after having many problems with Three in the past.
I took out a 24 month contract in November 2010 on a Blackberry Curve 3G 9300. The only tariff that they had on offer was an 'Internet texter 500'. Which included 500 Minutes, 5000 texts and 1GB of data and Blackberry Data, plus the usual 'unlimited' 3 to 3 calls for £25 a month.
I have been very happy with my contract, although I use no where near the amount of calls, texts and data I am paying for.
So I was quite anoyed when 6 months into my contract I see on the Three website, them offering the exact phone on what looked like the exact contract I was on for only £22 a month.
I phoned 333 to aske why this deal was cheaper to find out that I was paying £3 more a month for my picture messages, (which didnt know I had, let alone used) and the (what I thought was standard) 'unlimited' 3 to 3 calls.
When I said I didn't use the picture messages and didn't call anyone on 3 they said they would check with a manager. I was then told that my only options were to downgrade to this other deal or to change to a 'Talk 900' which would allow me 900 units (Total per month) which could be used as calls or texts. (Bearing in mind I had a 500 minutes and 5000 texts).
So I asked to downgrade. I was put on hold and then told that I would have to wait another 6 months before I could do anything about changing my contract. So I would be a year into a 2 year contract paying and extra £3 a month for things that I dont use.
I was then offered a 'Text 900' which would be exactly the same as my contract now, except 900 minutes instead of 500. I told them that I dont use 500 at the moment so certainly didn't need 900!
I was told to wait 6 months then to give them a call again and see what they could do.
Is it right that if I had just waited 6 months I would be paying less a month for the same phone! Why is the standard 3 to 3 calls and some picture messages worth £3 a month? How can they tell me to wait 6 months to downgrade but they can change or urgrade my contract now?
I am very confused and more than slightly annoyed.
