Do not hire from Thrifty-Terstappen Munich Airport, We booked a hire car through Holiday Autos to pick up Munich Airport, on arrival I was told there was no damage to the car and 1000 euros would be reserved on my credit card to cover the excess,

When we got to the car I checked it and there was no damage as I had been told, all bit a few minor scratches as is usual on most cars that I have hired, I have in fact reported theses type of minor scratches before to hire companies, only to be told "oh that is nothing" the car had done 20, 000 kms and I do not expect to have a totally scratch less car with a vehicle that has covered this amount of miles.

When I returned the car to munich Airport the car was checked in and one of these minor scratches of 1 cm in length that was there at pick up was mentioned as new damage by the person checking the car in. I said that was old damage he then looked at my paperwork then said yes it was old damage,

When I dropped the keys off at the desk I asked the girl on duty about the damage, said the car had new damage, I told her it was old damage and the guy that checked the car in confirmed this, I then spoke to the manager of the hire company and I told him the same thing, we then both walked down to look at the damage but the car had gone for cleaning and was not there, I then saw the guy that had checked the car in and he confirmed to me and the manager that it was old damage, the manager and this guy then started talking in german which I cannot understand, then low and behold the manager turned to me and said to me the guy had made a mistake and it was new damage !!.

He asked for my email and he would contact me when the car came back from cleaning, he never did, they have charged me 1000 euros for damage that was already there,
